Well I don't see where the OP is judging the shop owners right to smoke. In fact the opposite was said, but this is what the ANTZ do when they twist your words around. The OP stated they don't care if the owner smokes, just do it in a more appropriate place. It's the same message that vapers should respect.

Heading of the thread.. A little rant... Okay?

Now he was at his favorite B&M and saw the owners smoking cigarettes. OP then distinguishes, not the employees but the owners. Now we get I don;t care if someone smokes... yet he started a rant about it? Then calls it disrespectful. Next he thought it was fluke. Now he no longer patronizes the store.

Apparently I missed something that you picked up.

I didn't twist anything. If anything was twisted was when the OP used I don't care if someone smokes. Apparently he does because he doesn't go there anymore.

I was at my favorite B&M store getting some juice and I saw the owners of the store standing around smoking cigarettes. Not the employees, but the owners. Now I don't care if someone who owns or works at a vape shop also smokes but doing it right in front of the store just seems disrespectful to the customers. The first time I thought it was a fluke, but now it seems to be every single time I go over there the owners are hanging out smoking i front.
I stopped going to that store, maybe I'm overreacting and this is a common thing but it just rubbed me the wrong way.
Any thoughts?

Is the B&M a Nice Shop? Do they have Helpful Employees? Are their Prices Reasonable for a B&M. Is the Shop Clean and Organized? Do they Advocate Battery Safety? Do they Encourage Consumer Advocacy?

These are the things I look for in a B&M. Not if the Owners Does Not Smokes Cigarettes. Smoking or Non-Smoking, just like Vaping or Non-Vaping seem to me to be Personal Choices.

I don't Look down on Smokers. Because I Smoked for a God Awful Long Time. And I know how Hard it is to Quit.

I would say it is a bit of an over reaction, i know 90% of vapers are EX-smokers, but i meen ive bounced between smokes and vapes before. as ive now been off cigs for a few weeks now, the smoke does bother me a little bit (i just find it has a really bad smell) but i was a smoker once, and when i was a smoker i didnt want to be complained about when i just wanted to have a smoke. this person being the owner of a vape shop its kind of a bad move, just due to the crowed of people that go there. but other then that i dont find anything wrong. its kinda a trickey topic because most of us are ex smokers, so it kinda like yeah we stopped smoking and boom now everyone we see that smokes we complain about lol :p

I would probably had made a funny comment to the owner but I wouldn't let it bother me. You find hypocrisy everywhere so why not in the business world? He just wants to make money on a product that interests people. My problem with B&M is not what they choose to do in their private life but how much they mark up there product and sell to people that have not discovered ecf and the savings that can be found on-line. I'm sure there are good ones around but the two I have been in made me literally shake my head at what they were telling me. The owners should at least hire people that have one or two clues about what vaping really is all about. My gosh, I think you made me step up on the soapbox. Getting down now and returning to my happy place. Have fun and happy vaping to you.

I don't mean to be the anti smoking nazi, but the owner is touted as someone who is an expert about switching to vaping from smoking and I've heard him giving advice to people about switching. I just found it hypocritical, just like getting advice about quitting smoking {we Don't talk about this here} from a {we Don't talk about this here} smoker.

Was he Giving Good Advice about Switching?

BTW - You should Edit your Post and remove the Drug Reference before the MODs see it.

Perhaps you should come down off the high horse.

What does him being knowledgeable about switching from smoking to vaping have to do with him smoking if the info he is giving is solid.

Does an Oncologist have to be a cancer survivor in order to be a good Doc?

Humm, not too good for business I'd say. I've had awful luck with the vape shops in my town. I don't know what's with these people! In my town they either don't know a thing about vaping or they are completely dishonnest! If I were you, I would go up to the owners and be honnest and respectful and tell them by them smoking in front of their shop it's actually bad for business. Let them know many people are trying to quit smoking by vaping and ask them why they are not trying vaping? See what they have to say. I mean I know they have every right to smoke but it is a awful advertisement for vaping and it definitely sends a mix message!!

Or pray tell.. You can only be an Obstetrician if you have had a baby.

Or the owner of a place that sells beer and alcohol drinking a soda outside the store.

I don't blame you a bit; my favorite B&M is in a strip mall with a Publix and a whole lot of other stores and restaurants, so it's impossible to avoid sometimes smelling smoke as I walk thru the parking lot, but if someone was hanging out smoking right in front of the store, it would be very unpleasant, to say the least. Considering that the owner iof this store is a vaper/ex-smoker himself and always at work inside the store, he'd probably run 'em off -- he's a big guy, really really nice but I bet he doesn't put up with a lot of BS!! :D

Seems the owners would at least have the courtesy to hang out the BACK door.

It's kind of like that commercial where the coke delivery guy drinking a Pepsi. Some have a harder time quitting the tobacco than others or maybe they like both. Does it really matter? Personally I won't give my business to the shops that sell vape stuff and the glassware etc for other substances. I just choose not to support businesses that cater to that. I have given my business to a shop that sold cigars, cigs and vape stuff without a second thought. It's about free choice. It they want to smoke, smoke. Do they provide good service and prices? I do however think its disrespectful for any business owner to smoke in front of their entrance just because not everybody smokes or wants to smell it.
