Hi,

For people that still use regular disposable cartomizers, I might have found a simple trick to prevent it from clogging or to clean the coil and center air hole from the gunk.

What I do, is when the cartomizer in question starts to be hard to drags on, I take a needle and I attach one foot of dental floss to the end.

After that I pass the needle thru the center hole, I pull the needle from the other side, I hold the carto between my tooths (teeths tooths? don't know...) and I rim the floss piece hard a coples of times.

You can see the floss piece becoming like dark brown/black...

After that procedure the carto drags like a new and vapes better..

Oh I forget, I double or tripple the floss piece so it can absorb and wash more gunk and residue.

Okay I hope it will help.

Ciao

I use 100% PG juices and don't often have hard draw on a Boge carto. VG tends to expand the filler and close the vent hole, in my experience. After 5 to 7 days, I chuck mine and open a new one.

Some clean them with pure grain alcohol and others wash them in hot water. Anything that opens up the hole and cleans the gunk off the coil is good. Just make sure you don't use them after the filler starts to scorch and burn. Once you cut one down the middle and see what happens inside, you will want to limit extended use after a few days. They can get nasty at the bottom where the coil is.

Check out this thread for pictures.

Yeah I opened my last carto, he went on for like 3 weeks vaping 1.5/2 mil per day. That wasn't that bad, it's only the freakin vent hole that clug but the coil don't fail unless you vape it dry. You think a gunky Carto become toxic? Personnaly I don't really care if it tastes good. And I use high vg juices.

I think the carto that I have vaped for 3 weeks would have worked longer, because I tryed to clean it with white vinegar because it was hard to drag and it clogs immediatly. Like you said I think the vinegar made the wick expand to much.

Btw I don't have a big vaping budget and with the juice and all it's not that cheap so I try to use my carto's as long as possible...

Floss, now that's an original idea. I too have those carts that become hard to draw on; it isn't getting the air it needs. Somewhere on here I read to try inserting a needle through the hole all the way up through the bottom. I use an extended paperclip straight through and it works much better afterwards. Another great way to extend the life of these inexpensive carts!

Flossing cartos looks like an excellent idea!

I've been using an unbent paperclip, but all too often I wind up snapping that very thin wire. Then I have a carto with infinite resistance. Not too useful.

But using a thin sewing or darning needle to feed a waxed thread of floss to scour out the inside of the tube makes a lot of sense. The next time I clean a bunch of cartos I'll have to try flossing.

Ouach I just opened a smoketech carto and with my flossing trick the air flow was still good but the taste was just awful. The white thing inside of the carto was all black just after like 5 days of use.... dirty

I tried to burn the wicking material with a lighter and it burned just like plastic... I'm disapointed I tough wicking material in cartos was like the silica thing that don't burn....

anyway flossing cartos is the way to go :)

I've read that those flossing sticks with a wee bit of bristles wrapped within it work really well. They can be bought at Walmart really cheap and are generally used for people with braces. I picked up a pack of 5 at a dollar store and am going to try it on my current boge carto when it stops performaning well.

Here's a pic to better describe it:
