We had an acre fenced with chain link and converted more than half of it into lawn grass. The true good heart was our wonderful Vet! He refused to charge us office visits, I had his home phone number since we would usually have a least 1 dog who was in end stage cancer. It was a fine line to decide when quality of life was too far declined to continue. Dr. Fox was the most compassionate Vet I have ever worked with...he's retired now.

For the most part I have more compassion for animals than I do people LOL...present company excluded of course!

Hey Bovinia, what you do is truly beautiful.
I used to live in the bush and there were Koala's everywhere. Unfortunately there is a disease (chlamydia) which affects their eyes to the point of dissolving their eyeballs if they have it for a long time. They usually get it from the birth canal so it starts as babies. I developed a herbal eyewash and used to pluck them up as they were changing trees and bring them in and bathe their eyes. I had success with the young ones but some of the older koalas were a bit far gone and already blind but I still treated them. Beautiful creatures they would just cuddle in after their initial shock.
I admire your work.

Koala's are indeed beautiful animals and helping them in the wild was such a caring thing to do!

I wish I could say that I still give homes to these sweet dogs but I can't afford to do it anymore. When my ex and I divorced, I left him with the house and property so that he could continue, and he has since adopted a blond lab and a beagle as well :)
