Brand new carto, just out of the pack. Removed the mouthpiece dealie - no little extra o-ring down in there. Dipped in some 70/30 juice - about 30 drops (XL carto). Put the condoms back on both ends to let the juice absorb into the material.

Took a shower, shaved, etc. - 20-30 mins. On my way out the door, took the condoms off, put the carto on a freshly charged battery (charged about 4 hours the day before).

Tried a toot. Nothing. Hit the battery button again. Button lights like normal. I try another toot, firing the batt a little longer. Got the worst burnt carto hit ever. Pulled off the drip tip. Carto material looks wet - everything normal.

juice was about a month old, and I have used it before.

Thoughts on what happened?

I've heard of DOA cartos. Is it possible the carto wasn't wired right or something?

Ugh, I can still taste it.

Take a condom and put some juice in it and push the battery end of the carto into the juice. Gently blow the inner tube out, (You should be able to see through it) and let sit for 10 more mins after wiping clean too. Also you may want to take a toothpick or something and put it through the inner tube to clear it out and make it a little bigger.

Aweee man, I feel for you. One of the reasons why I don't like to drip too often. Those dry burned hits right at the end make me gag. Its a DOA. Just toss it and fill the next!

Yeah if the filling is badly burnt it's probably not fixable....next carto get the juice soaked in really well, I like the condom method for first fill, I usually overfill my carto the first time, gently blow out, look through the inner tube to see it is clear, and let sit for awhile. Then try a little toot. If not performing well may want to blow out again and use the toothpick in your inner tube gently.

As a newer vapor when ever I have to toss a carto for any reason I always do exploratory surgery on it just to see what I can learn from it. You can learn a lot this way like if it was dry at the bottom when you pulled it apart it was just user error and if the wick was missing you will know the symptoms next time sooner. Good luck.
