A New Wave of Affordable Authentics?

Lately, I've been amazed at all the new options that the vape community has in regards to affordable authentics. I've been getting into what is seemingly an "RTA craze", purchasing the Lemo and Billow and even ordering the newly released SilverPlay RTA. Of course, in the rda realm there's the FreakShow, Holmes, Troll, Mutation X, doge, and many others. I'm interested in hearing your experiences with such atomizers. Do you think that they compete with their more expensive counterparts? Which of the affordable authentics do you recommend and why? What do you think about the build qualities? I'm really excited about this new trend! I've spent so much money on $100+ authentics, and honestly, I feel like some of these newer, less expensive options are equally as good in terms of performance. So, what's your favorite affordable rda, RTA, RBA, etc?!?!

I've noticed a lot of new, affordable rda's but most seem geared towards "cloud chasers". Wide open air intake and larger topcaps.

Yep, tired of only having mini RDAs for a single coil build and a smaller air hole that you can't drive a truck through !

Give me something nice that looks good on my mod !

Yeah, I feel ya. Have any of you guys tried the FreakShow? I would think it would be somewhat similar to the Magma, just cuz of the bottom airflow. I'm def interested, especially since the Magma is straight up one of my favorite RDAs for flavor. I'm skeptical though, cuz the Magma not only delivers on flavor but also imparts a really unique characteristic upon the vape. I wouldn't be surprised if that "it" factor is what commands such a high premium haha

Otherwise known as "The Rise of the Dual Coil RTA."

I've used dual coil clearomizers and enjoyed them. But RDAs and RTAs, I still enjoy my single coils.

It's always nice to see authentic, affordable originals however.

For sure, out of all the new RTAs, I much prefer the Lemo. The dual coil variants suck through juice like nobody's business. But, I don't know, maybe I'm not great at dual coil builds, but I tend to experience better flavor with single coil RTAs anyways.

I have a mutation x and competition doge and those i guess would be part of the cost friendly authentics but i find that i get good flavor. To the one that asked about adjusting airflow, yes it is thats the way you get more flavor out of it its just finding a balance between airflow and flavor that you enjoy just like with any tank or rta. Like i prefer wide open airflow on everything very rarely do i close off any airflow at all. I actually want tk remove the afc on my atlantis a friend did it and said the flavor is better without the afc ring on it.

I'm also very happy about this, but yes, many are geared for cloud chasers. I do love the Lemo. But, the Billow and Doge weren't for me. I'm considering the Youde Goblin, but suspect the Silverplay is very similar to the Billow.

I definitely would be happy to see some affordable authentics geared to flavor.

Agreed. I have a goblin and a silverplay and I'd gladly trade either for another lemo drop.

Most of the authentic RDAs are just fog machines. I mean I like a looseish draw as much as the next guy but I still want flavour. I still love my Magma. I like the new RTAs especially the Lemo and Goblin, very nice. I went back and read both pages of this and I would like to say that to me personally the Silverplay was a waste of money. The Goblin doesn't get used much by me but my brother in our basement loves it. The Lemo to me is simply an amazing tank. I had it for a long time just sitting and last night pulled it out and did another build on it and I friggin love this thing now. My go to tank, powerd by my VS DNA40 at 40W its amazing. I don't care to much about clouds but the flavor on this rocks and for those that do, it does put out nice. I love drippers but I find them a hassle out of the house (I am not getting a Reo) so I used a Kayfun for a long time, then an Atlantis, then a Subtank Mini and then a Delta II all the while I had the Lemo just didn't like it right away. Now my primary tanks are the Delta II with the RBA section at .8 28gauge and the Lemo with the build I put in this morning (.5, 24 gauge) BUT if I could just own one tank I would go with the Lemo.

I've found the Orchid V4 & V5 to be very servicable with a few minor modifications. They are meant for dual coil use, but to me it was too much trouble with not enough return in flavor, just clouds. The small cost kept my interest, easy to find for under $20, or less if the vendor has a sale running.

What I did was plug one of the air-holes and two of the juice feed channels, coiled it with 30 ga kanthral to 2.0Ω and wicked with rayon. Very simple to build and wick, and it hasn't been gunking or burning the wick even using NET juice.

The bottom fill hole does have an issue with being too close to the chimney to easily refill. I replaced the stock tank with a Kayfun M4 tank, and my syringe slips in no problem, fills in under a minute with no drips or leaks. They work well enough that I now have three of them, and one in vapemail.

I'm using one as my daily dripper right now. It's a fantastic atty, plain and simple. Very responsive to the type of coil you put on it. You can get a really wide variety of airflows with the top cap. Bottom airflow really does equal killer flavor, and with a lowohm high area build it can cloud.

mass production is whats driving down prices. the chinese are very good at it. they have a cheap labor pool and a self under value currency.

there will still be $200 rtas being produce. there are always a market for that no matter the product.

all these new sub ohm rtas are produce and price for the masses. the do 99% of what a $200 rta would do and there pricing point is affordable.

Your not liking the silverplay my man? Been looking at that for a bit. What dont you like about it? It crushes a kayfun I'm assuming right?

I've been loving the cheap authentic myself. I've got a mutation X which is quite nice, and a project subohm version of the Doge (didn't like the dumb dog logo on the regular one). That's my main gripe with these cheap authentic hitting the market.... most of them have horrible grafix on them. Like so bad that it's the only reason I won't buy it. I don't was some stupid looking ram or dog or infinite logo or cegreen logo or whatever. I don't mind the project subohm logo that vaporDNA puts on them when they link up with the manufacturer for their project. I just wish they would all come naked.
