Spicy Orange Sauce
1 cup orange
juice
1/2 cup light brown sugar
3 tablespoons orange marmalade
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon minced parsley
1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Combine all ingredients except for the vinegar. Boil for 15 minutes or until desired thickness, remove from heat, add vinegar.
For the rice pilaf I just use instant rice. I use 1/2 chicken broth and 1/2 water, add some parsley flakes, onion powder and pepper.
I usually cut up a chicken breast and fry up as nuggets, or you can use the frozen strips or nuggets. I prefer the homemade since some of the frozen ones have so many spices on them.
I will use whatever vegies I want, sauteed onions, bell peppers, shredded carrots, fresh mushrooms, snow peas, water chestnuts....etc..... DH adds broccoli to his.
Don't forget to
throw on some chinese noodles and toasted almonds.
