Hi - This is COSteve
I just made my first order with V4L and I should get it in a week.

I got the standard Charger $13.50
Xtra Long Manual Bat
Carts (5) pear 36 mg

I have a few Battery questions:

1.How can You Tell when the Battery Needs to be Recharged?

2. I have an odd schedule so I will probably recharge batteries before I go to bed. With the standard charger - from what I've read, it should take about 4 hours to recharge a fully drained Battery. But I won't wake up from sleep until 8 hours later. If the battery charges in 4 hours, will it hurt the battery to stay on the charger an extra 4 hours? Will it burn out the battery?

3. The XL Manual Battery I ordered has a 13 second Cutoff. What does the 13 second cutoff mean? What is the purpose of a cutoff? What does it do?

4. Battery Cleaning - I saw a couple of You tube videos talking about cleaning your battery. First of all - why do you need to clean your batteries? And How Often should you clean them?

One video was kind of complicated using a pipe cleaner, I may not be able to do it that way.

The other video uses - it looks like - distilled white vinegar.
This is simpler if it works and if it won't hurt the battery.
I can't post the video link because I haven't made 15 posts in the forum yet. So here's what he does:
He just heats up some vinegar in a microwave for 15 seconds - puts it in a tall glass, puts the battery in the glass of vinegar for 20 minutes. Then stands the battery up to dry.

Thanks for any advice. I've got a few different questions I'll do in a different post.

Welcome Steve! You've made a great first choice. You should have your stuff in less than a week. Mark will have it shipped tomorrow or Tuesday. You'll get an email when it ships.

1. When you push the button on the manual battery and the LED on the "ash" end immediately flashes and you won't get any vapor, it's done and its time to charge it.

2. Leaving the battery on the charger won't hurt a thing. All Li-Ion batteries require a smart charger. It will take care of itself.

3. The 13-second cutoff means that is how long of a drag you can take. From the time you push the button and it starts working, it will run for up to 13 seconds before it shuts itself off (assuming you hold the button in). Batteries need a cutoff just in case the button gets pushed accidentally, like in your pocket.

4. I wouldn't put the battery in any kind of liquid. It can ruin the electronics inside. Instead, just use a Q-tip that is moist with alcohol. For battery cleaning, regular old rubbing alcohol should work fine. Since it's a manual battery, you don't need to worry about cleaning out the hole. Just keep the threads clean so you get a good connection to the carto.

I've never had to clean my batteries. They can get dirty from trace amounts of juice, dust, dirt, pocket lint, and anything else that happens to get on there.

Please feel free to ask questions here. This is a great bunch!

Relax a bit Steve, it will astound you how easy and simple everything works when it gets here! Leave the batts on the charger all night, I've had one charging all night and all day today, no worries.
The nicotene level you have to feel out for yourself, I ordered 18mg, no where near enough, but I know now!

Enjoy have fun and ask away! I am glad to see you join up with us!
