Hi, my name is Michael, and I'm a nicotine addict.

I figured since my post count is high enough, I should make a proper introduction in the forum I'll be most active in. I'm a musician and sound engineer from Scotland, now residing in Newcastle. I've been a smoker of Marlboro reds for about 20 years, and am now at a point in life where I realise cigarettes are probably not doing me much good ;)

I've tried many times to quit using most techniques such as patches, champix, gum, sprays etc without success. The one common theme here is that I never wanted to quit. Like Denis Leary, I love to smoke. I tried giving up many times because I felt like I should, not because I wanted to, and I'd imagine that's why I failed.

I'm now trying to set up a business which I need money for, and if I wasn't spending £7 per day on smokes, I could easily afford what I need to. So this has given me all the motivation I need to actually want to give up.

From delving into these forums (and there are a hella lot of them!), browsing youtube, asking questions and seeking advice and reviews, I can now safely bin the rather terrible E-Lites and do this properly.

Through recommendations from this forum, I bought the Riva VE Deluxe kit from Vape Escape, and some 24mg USA Mix juice. Was like christmas morning today when the posty delivered and I've unpacked everything and lovingly set it all up, following the instructions to the letter. Charged a battery, and started filling a carto with juice. (I decided not to fill the Vision clear until I was sure the juice was palatable).

After figuring out the weird crackling noise was normal (and in fact a sign of a well filled cart) I tried out my first proper vape device....this thing is frikkin awesome!!! It actually creates a good hit, lots of toasty vapor and being stainless steel, it looks amazing too. Couldn't be happier with it, and I only just got started. So am now looking forward to kicking the analogs for good this time, and might even get one of them banner thingies to share my progress.

Only a couple days into my quest and you guys n gals have been amazing. So happy I found you :D

Hello and welcome, Michael.

If your first impression was good, then you are well on your way to quitting cigs. I only started vaping two months ago and have not looked back since, Smoking was costing me £50 per week, vaping now costs me £5 per week and I can vape all day long for that.

Good luck with your new business.

Yea the USA Mix isn't bad. If I'm honest it's like a much stronger version of the regular strength E-Lite. Mind you, I'm expecting my taste buds to be completely shot for a while yet, but I can see why people go for fruity or exotic flavours. I think the tobacco ones taste a little synthetic. Maybe the El Toros range with the real tobacco extract might be better.

All that being said, the battery and my 1st cartomiser I filled this morning are still going strong, and the juice is pretty tolerable for me. I've got a 30ml bottle of the stuff, so it'll last a while, but I can tell I'll get bored and want to try something different soon :)

Also gave the Vision a go too, and it seems to perform just like the carts, so happy with the consistency too :)
