happy holidays to the ecf...........anyway 4 weeks ago my wife got me the lavatube for my birthday/christmas and its great added the tank and tried the fluxomisers and the new vision from got vapes since then. But since i gave all my ego/ego-t stuff away to family i need a back-up an out and about mod,so iam allowed to spend 1/3 of my 300dollar christmas bonus on a mod and that is it and iam not allowed to spend no more then 100 bucks. So here goes.......never tried a bottom feeder, never seen anyone around the way vape with one either, but i was looking at the new VAPAGE XL with a 18650 battery thinking about pulling the trigger on it anyone have any experience with this mod? or bottom feeders?...........steven

I had the first run of Vmods and had terrible leaking. The chassis cracked in them. However, vapage fixed the problem and replaced the chassis. Still didn't like it. Having to use proprietary atty's and carto's are not to my liking. I like to be able to use any type of hardware that I want and buy from who I want...not have to go back to the same vendor. Add $50 and buy a Reo.

You do not have use proprietary atty's with the XL, and this thing has been completely redone since the initial vmod, it simply will not leak. I am using a 306 on it right now and its working great. Of course, the REO is a time tested workhorse, agreed. I plan on jumping on a REO VV woodvill when they make an appearance. But if you want a great performing bottom feeder for half the price that will serve you well, the XL is an outstanding option, just my 2 pennies there.

I say hold out for the VV Reo, you will have way more options this way,or, as well as waiting just a bit all together with that money you have to spend as 2012 is going to be bringing some pretty exciting Mods to the market all the way around. Especially with the Evolve kick and there modders pkg that all should be getting released soon. With that said you are going to see some very exciting Mods hitting in the next 60-90 days. Bottom feeding Mods with Darwin like electronics in them will be the best of em all, yield to hold and be patient would be my best advice rather then buy now.

wow,one all for it one says reo, i thought the new xl you could use the 306/510 atty? might have to go reo but the site also says they are out of stock

I just looked at reosmods.com (shop -> mods -> reo mini or reo grand) and there are some of each available. I don't have any experience with the Vapage - all I've used for well over a year are REO's. Great mods and excellent support/community in their subforum here.

and don't forget to use the code iwasnaughty for 25 percent off if you decide on the XL. with free shipping, a free barfly your out the door price of $56 is an unreal deal IMO. Alot of Reonaughts in the thread so I will back off slowly :) , and no disrespect to REO intended, I want one myself when their VV comes out, just stating my opinion on a cheaper yet well made and great performing alternative. with that I'm sneaking outta here :)

You also get what you pay for, I would rather spend $140 or whatever then say $56 and get a really good Mod that I love over just a so so Mod any day of the week. Not saying the XL isnt good I dont have one so cant say, but I know I would rather have Darwin like electronics in a mod then not have it.

I loved my REO but I gave up on bottom feeders for some stupid reason. That being said as soon as I get some cash back in the accounts I'll probably be buying another one. I'm not too familiar with the V-mod, but short of driving an 18 wheeler over it, you'll never be able to break a REO. Just remember, you're not just buying a REO, you're buying into a whole family of REO owners too.

alright then now iam thinking reo so sell me on y i should add the extra dough then,i know nothing about the reo bottom feeder

It's built like a Mack Truck, the feed system is self contained and doesnt leak. The catch cup is built into the Mod and perfect, you can also slip an O-Ring over the Atty down to the top of the catch cup, this will give you 2 things, adjustable draw, and when not in use you push it tight down and No juice can ever run out, even without the o-ring no juice really ever comes out though, Any Atty will work, 18650 Batts for 3.7-4.2V also can run a 5V Batt, or stack 2 x 3.0 LiFePO4 Batts for 6v, need I go on and on, I think not, its just a great all around Mod to have, you can buy now and have all that, or wait a bit and have the newer VV Reo that is coming that will have Buzz electronics in it and have VV, or maybe wait longer and have Darwin like electronics if he decides to ever go that route, either way it is a great Little bottom feeder and they hold there value quite well. All Done.

Just going to throw my 2 cents out there. If your looking for a back up mod then maybe you should consider some all mechanical mods, such as the REO (great mod and lots of fans) the mako midi (non bottom feeder but works very well and is super well made) or something equivalent. All mechanical mods 99% time do not break.

Plus if you lost your hammer, you could always use the Reo.

With the Vmod XL ANY ATTY/CARTO WILL WORK with no drilling of any kind. It is no longer proprietary... The vmod xl has come a long way from the first run vmod hairball... It is like night and day from July.... Check out this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-video-reviews/250190-vmod-xl-18650-bottom-feeding-mod-vapage-com.html.

For $100 you can get a really good bottom feeder and lots of $$ to buy your favorite atty's or carto's to go with it
