I won't make this long, though everyone finds their own vape thing to do, and we all realize it. How about a concise set of options, excepting fluid: and a vendor link, a checkout cart, or a nice local store with a nice under $50 US or equivalent purchase price including shipping. There is a lot of information here, and a tremendous amount of experience that could be shared. juice is too subjective to critique. Show the new or soon to be new vapers the good deals, let that info get used and capitalized on. Please feel free to share. And please, no Fanvari hype. This is a thread for interested and inexperienced vapors like me.
Here is what I would do. No links to any of this just a wish list, minus juice.
1) One 510 threaded variable 900 mah battery.
2) One 510 threaded 650 mah battery.
3) One USB to USB Micro cable for 510 passthru (May be unnecessary due to the users cell phone).
4) One single carto tank, 510 threaded, 3 mL with carto (resistance optional)
5) One single replacable atomoizer clearomizer tank/or two disposable clearomizer tanks (resistance optional)
6) No carrying case

I've bought starter kits, LEA Express kit from iVape.net for friends and giveaways. It's a nice starter, one of my friends uses it exclusively and has had no problems with it at all. Of course I get some juice for them to start off with and I always get iVape Serendipity. My son who smoked menthols likes it, one friend who smoked marlboro red likes it, I like it and my poison was marlboro gold. I know it's very subjective but I thought those were pretty good odds. Tastes like watermelon jolly rancher sort of. I don't know any people who hate candy but I suppose they're out there. lol These were all adults btw, 30-50.
I'm going to thrown in one link, same place, that's I guess is a today only sale, you need the code.

My biggest piece of advice is DO NOT get a kit...from anywhere... Those 5 things I mentioned will cost less purchased separately than almost any kit out there and you won't end up w/ a bunch of useless equipment. And stay away from cartos, again just my opinion but I think you'll quickly find they're for the inexperienced (and taste like crap imo)

That depends on where you buy the kit, there are a couple of shops that have single battery kits with clearos for under $20. As to the cartos being for inexperienced, we have many ECF vets who have been vaping for a couple years who LIKE and use cartos.

I wish I had gone with the local shop's starter kit instead of the joye 510 kit. Would have been tons cheaper (spent $200 in the first 2 orders) and if I'd gone in person I could have tried all the flavors before deciding..

Just sold off all that stuff so that I can get what I should have gotten the first time around :) I was nice though, I made sure he knew why I didn't like those particular units and after he used them for a couple days he decided it was perfect for him.. (510 kit with carts, cigalike batts, most of the 5ml juice samples, PCC, usb, etc..) Just kept enough to keep going until Fri. (Might keep the 510-t parts anyway, depending on how much I like the nova and/or ec5+ I'm getting.. Otherwise gonna gift it to him.)

I didn't even wait for the carrying case to show up..

Cool, as I said it's just my opinion... No harm intended.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I believe most newbies will prefer something that feels like a cigarette and is easy to use. Slim bats and cartos fit that bill. You can move on and experiment with bigger and badder after you get the hang of things. I have tried bigger bats and several different clearos, but I still love my slim bats and cartos. I've never found a clearo that I like...always come back to cartos. So one size does NOT fit all...IMHO.

I just started vaping... Picked up a GreenSmartLiving cig-a-like from my smoke shop. (purchased on a whim, as I had decided to buy analogs after "quitting" for a week. Bought the e-cig instead)

It was $20 for a batt, 2 cartos, & a charger... & it opened me up to the wonderful world of vaping!! :D

I have since placed an online order from smokeless image. The coupon code: "voltsave" brought my cost down by over 15%

So, from a newbie vaper of less than a week, this is the rout I have taken thus far. I'm still waiting on my package from smokeless image.... & still analog free!!!

Happy Vaping ;)

ETA: watch tons of youtube vids! About everything!! Watch reviews & how to's.
I have found that alot of tinkerers enjoy diy mods & that alot of "chemists" (like me- self proclaimed "nerd") enjoy diy juices/liquids. :)

Very true. And just for the record that's why I included IMO twice... I'll also add that in my experience there is no perfect setup so you can probably give up looking for that now... vaping is an ongoing project which is why it's become a hobby for so many of us.

None of the advice in this thread would have helped me. In fact, I followed advice like this for several months before I realized just how subjective taste is.

I hate clearos. Stardusts, Nanos, Tidys all fail for me. Never tried CE3's, and I don't use 510 equipment so the Vivi is out. Didn't like dripping, although I do love the 901-T system. Hate manual batteries. It's not that I need or want it to look and feel like an analog, I just don't want to have to look around and fumble for a button to activate my PV.

I like cartos and I like automatic batteries. I have the Echo. One 3 ml cartomizer and a 650 mAh battery easily gets me through the day.

The advice in this thread is great, but it's really going to help about 50% of the vaping public on this forum. The carto/clearo divide is wide. And most people only move on from automatics because of battery life and/or leaking atties killing them. The 808's have solved the "sealed" auto problem. The automatic vGo or the Echo has solved the battery life problem.

Everyone is different. Find what works for you.

Good luck!

I totally agree. I think alot of it is mental, it definately was for me. My first 2 months I used the V2 cig look alike starter kit. The feel in my hands, mouth, the motion and the vapor all simulated smoking. I don't think I would have made it starting with a twist or Lambo. Some can. But for me it was the mental part. Once I got over that I moved up. I spent more money on my initial kit than if I would have started with a twist, tank and some juices but it worked.
Just yesterday my wife and I were talking about using up the rest of the cartos and stuff we had with the V2s. We pulled them out, charged them up, took one pull on them and put them back. Sending them all to my brother who just started a couple weeks ago with the same brand. Alot wasted, but we are still ahead $$$ wise.
