I think the morale to the story is there is never a perfect answer. I chose to simply read through hundreds and hundreds of threads here and watch lots of reviews on U-Tube to see what these "things" were. I personally chose not to do the "starter" kit thing as nearly all I read indicated that people quickly blew through those and moved up to something else. I just decided to cut that step out, but might work for some. For many, I suspect, this is also a financial decision, so they go to something inexpensive. That was not a factor for me as I knew full well how much I was spending on smokes (see my banner).
Based solely on reviews, I bought 2- Ego Twists 1000 mAh and a bunch of Vivi Nova's. I have since bought a Z Max and a variety of many other accesories, but the original decision was quite sound and works well for me. I use all three VV's at a time and typically have 3-5 different juices loaded and switch between them as I choose.
It's all a personal decision, with the very most important being to do something and quit smoking. I'll never regret what I did, regardless of whether it had originally worked out with the equipment. I simply would have found what did. That is the common thread to all I read here. You'll find the right thing for you, hopefully sooner than later.
