I've been wanting to try out some Boge cartos because someone had suggested that I try them in order to improve the amount of vapor production. I've never used them before, I normally just use attys and drip with them.

I was thinking today that one of the things that annoyed me about my last batch of atomizers is that they had too much airflow and it literally felt like I was sucking air through a straw, which imo is not very satisfying. So I'm now wondering about whether I should order LR cartos or just regular cartos. Does the resistance have to do with airflow, I'm assuming it has to do with the amount of resistance when taking a drag. Or maybe I'm totally wrong on that and it has something to do with the vaporization process.

I'm interested in increasing the amount of TH I am currently getting and more vapor production would be really awesome.

Higher voltage on a standard resistance BOGE. High MaH, lower voltage for batteries with LR Boge. My SR Boge produce a lot of vapor on a 5v passthrough. Respectable vapor on Ego/510 batteries. Should be a tighter draw then dripping.

Resistance of the carto is not an airflow measurement. It's a factor you would plug into the power equation.

So.. tell us what you are using for batteries? And the atty you currently use.

Boge cartos compare in draw to a cigarette filter, maybe a tad lighter than some, but satisfying. It's not like a straight through draw at all, there's some airflow resistance. A Boge carto is filled with polyfiber fill with a small air tube down the center that helps in creating nice draw without too much resistance. After a few days to a week, the draw might tighten up a bit. When it gets noticeably tighter, I chunk it and open a new one.

A pack of 5 costs about $8 and you can get up to a week out of each one. Boge is almost all that I vape, except for when I use a 306 drip tip or a Smoketech dual coil. Smoketech DC attys have a lighter draw to me than a Boge 510. The 306 dripper is about the same as the Boge.

The best way for an initial fill (or every fill if you like). I top mine off from time to time with a juice bottle by drops dripped into the mouthpiece end. It's important to thoroughly soak the filler on first use.

I'm currently using a Vgo with 900 mAh batteries and these attys. Those attys were not the batch I was referring to that I got most recently. The ones I got most recently were similar, but not those exact ones...these were "re-vamped" versions of those though. I couldn't stand the added airflow luckily I found an atty out of my old pack that I hadn't yet used. Sometimes different isn't always better so I'll probably just stick to the attys I linked, but the cartos are intriguing and seem like less of a hassle.

I know this thread is a bit old but I was just told some information that blew my mind.

I had no idea that the center post on a boge carto can be turned up to 90 degrees clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust airflow on the carto.

Don't go spinning it like crazy because you could damage the coil, but if you're finding your boge cartos either airy or too hard to draw turn the center post a bit and you'll be able to see the side air holes open up or close a bit.

Turn it with a screwdriver? I wondered why the battery contact was slotted.
EDIT: I turned it 90 deg ccw, and the draw SEEMED to loosen a tad. Am I just imagining this?

...actually it is not an adjustment for air flow...the center pin is just pressed in place......you can accomplish the same thing by inserting a heavy pin or skinny screwdriver into the center hole and pulling out on it...be careful doing this as you can damage/break the coil wire or damage the insulator, causing a short.........

p.s. everyone should take an old carto and disassemble/destroy it to see how it is constructed..........mj

That video for the refill totally kills what I thought I knew about the construction of these units. If I am not mistaken he inserted the Carto from the battery end. Makes no sense to me. If you can fill it from that end, what keeps the juice up and out of your mod?

well,a revolution uses a bottle with a needle that protrudes through the hole in the crew section of a carto, effectively filling it from the bottom, hence "bottom feeder" :)

At least that`s the conclusion to which my 2 days of ownership made me arrived to...
