BP, I have been having the same problem. I keep vaping away, but I have been wondering why I feel short of breath, or sort of like I don't have much improved lung capacity, even though I quit cigs totally more than a month ago. My lungs have not gone through any sort of clearing out process. I just stopped having gross coughing attacks once I quit smoking. Also, I don't wheeze and keep myself awake at night. But I sort of expected to be breathing better by now. I am trying to be patient, though, considering I smoked for most of 30 years.

I am not bothered enough yet to switch to all VG (I tried diluting some juice with VG, and it made me gag.) But, I am trying to see if some fruit flavors are a problem for me. Something weird happens with my chest and throat when I vape grape, watermelon and sour cherry. I'm sort of worried it is starting to happen with my RazzWow, too. So I will be experimenting, also.

MK, you described EXACTLY what my nic fits are like now: that vague feeling I've forgotten something! I used to get more of an anxious, almost claustrophobic feeling if I went too long without a cig. So, I still have a craving, but it is much milder, which goes with the mild way in which the craving feels satisfied once I do vape. (I sort of miss that heaving sigh of relief from taking the first puff or two on a cig after having had to wait a long time.)

It is interesting how people have different sensitivities. Lungs are touchy! I seem to remember seeing Kimmy post that she couldn't vape watermelon bc it affected her somehow as well. For me, it just seems to be more generally related to how much I vape, especially with higher PG juices. (at least that's my theory OF THE MOMENT!)

Something in the back of my head says that despite drinking a LOT of water, my lungs were just too dry to actually start the clearing process. I did cough up 2 nasty fleck-filled lung biscuits around the end of my first week, and then it abruptly stopped. No coughing at all for the next several weeks. Since switching to the 50/50 juice over the last 5 days or so, I've actually started coughing again occasionally, and my lungs do feel more moist. Less stiff. Is that moist-ness good for them? Not a clue - but at least there seems to be a little movement happening again.

Your coughing since going 50/50 PG/VG is very interesting. I keep thinking that my chest will feel better if I can get that clearing out process going. Something for me to try.

I have found that drinking tons of water is helpful. Unfortunately, I am addicted to Diet Coke almost as hopelessly as I am addicted to nic, so I sort of undo the benefit of drinking water by drinking Diet Coke! I am cutting down, tho, so doing better with the water.

I also have to confess to being a chain vaper, and it HAS occurred to me that I might have to pace myself more...So many flavors, so little time...

Thanks for sharing your experience with this. I think I will be a little more proactive about getting some breathing improvement, and see what happens. Things are still a huge improvement over smoking!

Sorry to hear about the issues BP. My wife started referring to my p/v as a pacifier and I had to admit the first couple of week it really was. Now I've been doing something that is...well..a little unorthodox. When I first started I didn't re-order quick enough after my first pack of cartos were gone. I didn't want to go back to analogs, so I bought a pack of Hav-a-Tampa Sweet Cigars with the wood tips to carry me over for a couple of days.

I only used half of one before my order arrived and put it back in the box with rest. So now I force myself to take a break from vaping and carry a 1/2 used cigar, don't light it but keep in my mouth Baretta style and dry hit it. I am able to get through 4-5 hours before I really want to start vaping again. I noticed by cutting down on vaping I was sleeping better and mouth (especially under my tongue) didn't seem so dry. Ever notice flavors are great in the morning, but after chain vaping by late the afternoon they seem to lose a little of their taste.

Of course that's not the case at all. They are not losing any taste, my taste buds are just getting overloaded. Because I know I can vape if I really need to, I have no desire to ever light the cigar. I know.....I'm wierd.... but I thought I should let you know about it if you need to cut down on the vaping without getting too edgy.

Hey there, BP. Yeah, I've been experimenting with PG vs. VG for the past four months after some mild sensitivity to PG. In fact, I'm sampling PG again this week after a few months away from it. I'm just curious about my reactions to each and how they may change over time. My primitive findings would take a multi-page post, so I'll just mention a couple of quick things today instead.

First, the juices are indeed different in many ways, and they affect me differently. While the PG flavs taste better, the VG actually replicates cig smoking much more for me. Those heavy clouds of vape are really satisfying in a way. And the VG has fewer negatives for me, especially concerning the outbreaks of zits that initially prompted my change to VG. The downside of VG for me, as you mention, is the oiliness that coats everything around it, including my throat. Again, kind of like cigs in a nasty way.

I should add something about timing. My sensitivity to PG kicked in heaviest at about three months, and my improvement with VG took several days to begin and then peaked at about two weeks. So whatever you try, my advice is to give it 1-2 weeks of full-time trial before you decide. In my case, at about two weeks I noticed that my skin was surprisingly clear again although I was having to clear my oily throat more often.

And last, you're right about the severe limits of VG juices and cartos at V4L. I can only offer that a couple of V4L's fearless leaders have privately assured me that a small selection of new VG products is on the way. Premium? Wow? USA-made? No idea, but I'm sure you'll be seeing something of these before long. If you happen to need some cartos to help with testing or hold you over, just let me know. I have a huge stash (all 18mg), including a great mix of freebies I received from a wonderful member of this forum.

Meanwhile, good luck to you, man. Keep me posted, would you? I'm really tracking everything I can find about PG vs. VG vaping and would definitely appreciate your input. ;)
