A question from a Musician who just ordered a kit.

I wasn't really thinking about it when I bought my kit, the manual 510. I play drums and guitar for a couple of local bands. With no smoking in the bars anymore I'm used to keeping an analog in my mouth while I play. I'm thinking about buying some of the 510 disposables from mad vapes and wonder if I'll be able to get away with them while I play drums?

Has anyone ordered these from mad vapes and if so how long does it take to get them and how well do they work.

Second if anyone is a musician would it be confortable to keep one in your mouth like it is with an analog?

I'm still waiting on a kit from china the 510 but I'm getting impatient and wondering if I should order closer to home.

They do weigh more for sure might get hard to hold playing drums for sure with the movement

Yes, they are abit heavy... you might try a 306a... smaller and lighter, and an auto batt so you don't have to push the button, just drag. It works for me holding it in my teeth.

I'm a drummer too, also piano/keyboard/vocalist - I teach and play in a cover band. I got my Joye 510 last Saturday and although it doesn't look or feel like an analog - it's comfortable to bite down on the tip and hold in my mouth.

I can drum with it in my mouth!

Mine has the manual batteries so I can't push the button to vape and drum at the same time But, biting on the tip has become really soothing and almost a habit in itself.

I haven't taken it to a gig yet, but I certainly am going to. I'm not sure what kind of response I'll get, but I am certainly comfortable keeping it in my mouth while I drum.

FYI, in my opinion, the 360a looks almost the most like a real cig as anything out there, if that's what you are worried about. You can get it in black or 'natural', white batt with tan atty. It is compatable with 510 stuff, too!

Edit- BTW, the only diff between 306 and 306a is the battery length, 306a being shorter, making it only 4mm longer than a standard king size cig.

thanks I usually don't have a lit cig in my mouth anyway. but it should be nice to have a puff or two in between songs.

Nuther drummer here, too. Seems a manual 510 with a whistle tip would be easiest so you could bite down on it and control the battery. Of course I would think you're only going to vape on a long pause, between numbers or on break. Last band broke up just about the time I started vaping so I can't relate any on-stage experience.

Another vote for the 306a because it is small and light, and 510 compatible.
You can use the atomizers and batteries of either one on the other one.

Just make CERTAIN that you don't get the sound activated automatic batteries.

Guess a lot of Bunny Carlos fans in here... BTW, I am a beginning Bass player myself, but don't think I can vape while playing, have enough trouble as it is just remembering notes!

The stock 510 while much heavier than a regular cigarette is easy to hold in your mouth once you get used to it.

Madvapes ships quickly. Same day every time I ordered. The disposable is not a true 510 but is interchangeable with a regular 510 except the charger wont charge the manual 510, Not positive about the charger. The good news is I have yet to see a negative report only positive.

Slow typer here I now see you don't hold it in your mouth.

Spiker, I don't usually smoke while I play but I like to have one in my mouth. I just lite up when I get a quick break. It also stinks now that they have banned smoking in bars. So I can't just light up in between songs and get a puff or two.

Im guessing you can get a whistle tip for your cig and im sure that will help to keep that sucker in your mouth. You can bite down on those things.

heh, I was just going to post about whistle tips I love those things. If I'm busy in the car or whatnot I just chomp down on that tip and I'm GTG.

yeah get a manual battery. I know what its like being on stage under stage lights, its freaking hot. Rocking out makes you hot enough. Just dont sweat all over it lol. and yes whistle tip carts fo sho. |..|,

Cool, a drummer thread. I would never play with a lit cig but I could see how you could keep an unlit one while you play. The smoke rising from a lit one would annoy me too much.

As for PVs, I find they are way too heavy to hold in my mouth. Even the M401. You could just keep it close though and drag on it between songs. The audience wouldn't know what's going on with that blue light by your face!

btw, if you use an Auto M401 the vibrations from the drums will set it off and drain it fast. I've since switched to the VK (V4L) manuals but I hear their Autos work differently (on suction) so you might want to try those if you like autos.

Do you ever play in the Metro Detroit area or just up North? Yooper?

Not only does the smoke from an analog burn your eyes, a fiery ash can do serious damage to a snare head. Been there, done that. What might work is a boom mic stand and an e-cig clip fixed next to the mic clip right in front of you. It would just look like you had a mic with a nice blue light.
Damn, wish I was playing right now. I'd try that.

Just in Northern Mi. Usually below the bridge. My buddies band that I used to drum with before he moved down state plays a lot of gigs in Detroit. His band name in Recoil.

I'm sure I will figure somthing out and It has to be better than waiting for the set to be over and running outside.

i was out playing last night in a local bar - we stopped for smoke breaks for the other guys - so I just ended up outside with them! It's tough to get people accustomed to the fact that this is not 'smoke' - but I wish you luck! I can't hold my 510 comfortably in my mouth when I drum - but I do tend to get worked up
