Hello, all! First time poster, but I've been reading through these forums for about two months. I thought I'd share my story about quitting analogs and my adventures through what NOT to buy, and how I should have researched a whole lot more first!

I started less than three months ago with the most junky e-cigarette I think I've ever held - and yet, it was heavenly to be getting my breath back and stop smelling of stale smoke.

I originally purchased a "PureSmoke" (not a typo, it's NOT a PureSmoker but is indeed branded to feed off of their reputation for being made in the USA) made in China barely functional auto e-cig for $90 locally. The charger was broken when I got home, which should have been my first sign. I went back to the store, exchanged it, and enjoyed that silly thing for about two weeks when the charger broke similarly to what I had found in the original purchase - this time, I got my money back (less used cartridges) and searched online to find what I could.

Based on what reviews I could find and suggestions from people on completely unrelated forums, I ordered an (overpriced, in hindsight) Joye eGo and a bunch of juice and empty cartridges. I was absolutely THRILLED with the idea that I could actually refill the cartridges, something no one had really told me and a fact I'd not uncovered when starting on the PureSmoke.

Fast forward to a week or two ago, when a friend made me aware of Tasty Vapor and Strictly e-Juice. I had my sights set on a bigger battery, spare atomizers ("those wear out?!") and TV's "kretek" flavor, since the generic clove flavored juice I bought with the eGo originally left a lot to be desired. My main worry was price, of course.

Just about an hour ago, I finally managed to combine my late b-day gift money and a few bucks I'd saved here and there into a sum large enough to order spare batteries, a larger battery, an extra charger, a car charger, and some juice from TV. I chose buttered rum (sounds delicious), kretek of course, and bananas foster. From what people have said on here and other forums, I believe I will be more than satisfied with my purchases from Geoff.

From Strictly e-Juice I ordered the highly recommended blue foam cartridge batting, a case for my eGo (I keep scratching the paint while it bangs around in my pocket, plus I'm scared of having the button accidentally pressed for a long period of time), and the spare atomizers and such.

When I asked if someone could compare the TV kretek w/sweetener to the previously mentioned "clove" with both mixed to the same mg of nicotine, she plainly told me that the "clove" is to kretek as stale Swisher Sweets are to honest-to-goodness Djarum Blacks. I'm excited. :) :) :)

Another way she tried to tell me is that I won't notice the sort of plastic-y taste I've been getting from the previous e-juice until I taste the absence of such, and I won't realize I've been missing the sweet flavor until I have it in the TV e-juice. Anticipation builds! Perhaps by next Friday my orders will arrive. Late b-day present from my girlfriend as I said, so... hooray for me. :)

For those that might just skim this post -from what I understand, I just got about $500 worth of stuff (if purchased from the vendor where I originally got the eGo) for about ~$150 total including shipping! While the folks I ordered the eGo and various e-juice from originally are by no means scammers or outright ripoff artists, both TV and Strictly are far better values, far higher quality, and, unfortunately, not as well advertised. Hopefully my experiences will be right in line with the rave reviews I was able to dig out on the web at other forums. I fully expect they will be! :2cool:

Anyway, that was my quick introduction and my story so far. Thanks to all the contributing members for posting such detailed reviews on this forum. :toast:

Hi Mr Communis, welcome to ECF! Sounds like your learning curve is moving right along. I think most of us started with pvs that weren't the greatest and then upgraded. Most of us have had to try a lot of juices to find the ones we love, too. I've not tried the Kretek you ordered, but know a lot of people love it. (I'm not a clove fan.) I do know that Tasty Vapor has some fabulous juices. I've tried over 50 of them and while I don't like them all, my favorites are in his line-up.

Let us know when you stuff gets there and what you think.
