A quick question.

I apologize for not trawling through all the stickies and what not, but i'm on a limited time frame at the moment and have just a simple question....Even though i'm sure it's been asked and answerd a dozen times over!

Is it possible to take something like the 36mg unflavored nicotine liquid from xtremevaping and simply add flavor concetrate to it until the desired flavor is achieved? Or, is it more complicated then that?

I ask because of the looming threat of FDA bans, I was going to stock up on a few liters of unflavored liquid and a bunch of flavor concentrates just in case? I've done some pre-liminary reading of the DIY process and it all seems a little complicated...

Thanks!

Close to that, though typically you would also add some plain PG or VG to cut the final nicotine level to your desired target.

Depending on flavorings used, you may only have a couple % flavoring (FA), or upwards of 20% (TPA, natures flavors, some non-FA tobacco blends), so unless you want around 30 mg/ml final eliquid you add the VG or PG.

VG is readily available in Rite Aid, CVS, Walmart -- Glycerin USP skin protectant, ingredients should just say Glycerin 99.5%. PH
G you can easily get online, or many tractor supply stores sell 1 gallon of propylene glycol USP for about $20 (it's used to treat a cattle skin condition).

Yes, that much flavoring for some vendor flavorings. For example, I make a caramel cappuccino with 9% Natures Flavors caramel, 11% NF cappuccino, 80% nic base and filler. If you have 36 mg/ml nic base, and are okay with 29 mg/ml final result, you would have 80 mls of your nic base plus the 20 ml of flavoring.

A gallon is a lot.

One liter of 100mg/ml would make 3 liters, over 100 ounces, of 33 mg/ml eliquid, or 5 liters of 20mg/ml. Many, though by no means all, people will decrease their nic a bit over time. Say you got about 130 ounces of eliquid from a liter, at 6ml/day (my consumption, pretty high) that would be a 650 day supply.

I've read of freezing nic base (more like sludging, since pg has a low freezing point), but haven't heard of storing it for more than a couple years.

Maybe go as high as 2 liters, split it into multiple 500ml bottles, rotate a bottle every 6 months.

At a practical working level, after you have been vaping a while, stepping down the nic is not hard. I've dropped my nic in half since last april, with most of the change the last 5 months, just drop 1 or 2 mg/ml at a time. If all nic sales stopped tomorrow, even a couple hundred ml of decent strength base would be plenty for most people to wean to 0mg painlessly. Doesn't mean I stop vaping, just dropped out the nic.

I've read that the only thing that will happen to nicotine after years of cold storage is a degradation of the nicotine strength. So if you start out with 60mg after several years you may have 58mg. No big deal. A year or two ago a few chemists were on here talking about it and you may be able to do a search and find the threads.

I hear all different things from searching . The majority of people have said 2 years max . 1.5 years on premixed juice .I would think at the two year mark the nic would have a really bad pepper taste and harshness .
