Hello All,
I haven't posted in some time. I started vaping over a year ago and stopped smoking ciggs. It wasn't soon enough. I was diagnosed with throat cancer 12/23 and had surgery a few days after New Years. I am now going through radiation treatments. The surgery was a bear, losing a
good part of my throat, and part of my tongue.I am recovering well and can speak as good as before.
My point is the doctor told me my type of cancer was from cigg. and pipe smoking for so many years, over 30. I asked him about e ciggs. I was told that the nicotine isn't good for you, BUT in my case go ahead and vape if it means no more ciggs or pipe smoking. Many doctors are starting to agree with the benefits of vaping.
I encourage all who reads this post to not give up vaping for ciggs. If you get discouraged with your e cigg or juice, don't give up. Find the right
e-cigg and juice that will work for you. I'm here to tell you the alternative is living hell. It seems like we spend agreat deal of money on vaping. It really is less expensive in so many ways!
Keep on vaping!
Good luck!
Dave

David-So very sorry to hear what you have been going through. Hang tough. Cancer is a rough road to travel. I have watched my Grandfather die from cancer and have helped my Mother through lung cancer and soon we will beat a pre-cancerous tumor in her colon. It is not easy and will take all your strength. With preserverance and the best attitude you can muster, fight this with all your might and come out smiling on the other side a healthier, happy person. Good Luck and may the force of your choice be with you.

OP best of luck to you
Thank you so much for sharing your story.

ooh.. that was really horrible to know, hope you will survive for that kind of illness :) it is very dangerous.

can I know what is the benefits for vaping? thanks a lot

I think the benefit is that it offers an alternative option to smoking. That is to say, a pretty good number of people with cancer in the respiratory system will continue to smoke no matter what. If their only true options are to continue smoking traditional cigarettes or vaping then vaping is a beneficial alternative.
Some people cannot or will not quit nicotine.

And for those of us who are not ill and would continue smoking traditional cigs vaping is healthier.

I think it comes down to...if you're not likely to quit and you can either smoke or vape than vaping is a better option and the benefit is less risk to your health.

Thanks for sharing this with us David. I was a 34 year smoker before ecigs. There are times I have and still do think 'What the hell, this is such a pain. Buying a pack of smokes was so damn easy!' I will replace that thought with 'Think of David'. Because it could certainly be me.
Best to you, and my thoughts are with you.

Please let me add my prayers and best wishes for you, and thank you for sharing this with us. I'm new to this and have just told myself that even if vaping causes me to smoke one less cigarette, I'm still better off. I've had good days going without the old cigs and days when I just smoke away. I need to make more of an effort. Thanks for the reminder.

Best regards and keep us posted on your recovery.
