A situation I hadn't considered until now...

You guys may have seen my thread about my dead battery causing me to smoke an analog last night...

...well, it got me thinking.

I have tickets to a 5-day music festival this summer. It's serious, outdoor camping, with no electricity besides one little phone-charging booth.

How am I supposed to make my PV last the whole time? I really would rather not sit in the phone-charging booth for an hour per day to charge up my eGos.

Should I buy one of the advanced batteries? (the ones that take a specific size of interchangeable lithium battery - I believe you guys call them mods)

Should I just get 5+ eGo sticks? I already have two.

What would you guys do?

Perhaps one of those portable battery packs for charging a cell phone over USB? I think they go up to like 10000 mah and should get you a few charges. Sorry I can't post links yet.

You can grab a portable usb battery pack for about $20-40 depending on capacity. Some are as small as lipstick tube and have multiple USB outlets. Others are about the size of a cell phone.

One with 6000-10000mAh would be plenty to keep the eGo working the whole time. The smaller capacity (mAh) you purchase, the more time you spend in the charging booth.

Good advice. I'd take alot of charged batteries packed safely for my pv. Five days is a long time, but a 18650 last a decent amount of time per day. It would take me probably no less than 10 batteries to get through but I'd err on the side of caution and take a hand-full more just in case, gotta drive back and all.

Ps. I'd even consider buying some disposables just in case. Yep I'm paranoid

Never even used half of it all...

It will last probaly a year and a half if i don't press the fire button.

If it does run out, there is always the option to put a freshly charged battery into it.
I have three battery cases, between them they hold 12 batteries.
small and comapact, waterproof even!
why would you think any mod wouldn't last five days?

roflmfao. I actually had a Provari hold a charge for over a week on one battery. Might of lasted longer but I sold it. Didn't use it any more so sold it to someone who would.

My friend just got a solar powered charging station. Might be something to look into. Other than that maybe find a disposable you like, and just get a few of them.

If it's just an ego, charge them with your car battery. I go camping all the time and I have a 12v battery on my camper which I use for everything. I also have a solar panel that keeps the battery topped up.

I've considered picking up a second hand Provari just to say I owned one, but in all honesty I would never use it.

My Nemmy can do anything a Provari can do and more for 1/4 the price.

Hmm, OP has posited an interesting scenario. I'd likely make sure to bring a solar powered charger like above ^^. As well, I own Reos (an easy swap of 18650 batteries). However, I'm not sure I'd bring those with me, even though a device that takes 18650's and an ample supply of batts would work just fine and dandy. I'd likely bring a couple of MVP2's (or a few egos), plus a portable charging power supply (or solar), plus 50ml of my favorite juice and have fun.

I'd go the car charger route first off if that's an option.

If your getting there via other transportation that solar charger looks nice and compact enough to do the job. I'd worry mostly about where I could use it without fear of it walking away.

For me, well, I'd cart enough 18650's and call it good. I have 8 in rotation now (I've purchased one every time I visit my local B&M here lately).

The way I see it, if I were smoking I'd have brought at least two packs a day anyway. A few charged batteries a 30ml bottle of juice or two, my mod, tools, wire, and wick aren't going to take up much more room than that.

If I was camping I'd certainly do the solar charger thing, it would be all about the weight then.
