Sad times indeed back then. A family friend was a hemophiliac and received a bad batch of blood. Once it came out as being the 'gay plague', his life was ruined. Almost everyone knew he was a hemophiliac but it wasn't as widely known that the blood supply was potentially infected/transmittable. He was a good guy but even my family sadly turned their back on him. I remember getting a pretty good whipping for asking 'why can't I talk to him?' and being told he was a dirty man that would 'do something bad to me'. I was young and didn't really understand any of it so I pressed the point a little too much I guess. It was eventually discovered that he contracted it from the blood but I guess everyone felt too foolish to admit their mistakes and he eventually committed suicide about two years AFTER everyone knew it was blood borne... Fear can make the most rational person do unthinkable things to their fellow man.

WOW! I have no idea where I thought I was posting that last comment. I must have had two threads open, and put it in the wrong one. How inappropriate.

Anyway . . . question:

Dog tags. Easy ID to carry with you, and the military will easily recognize them, no matter where you end up when SHTF. There are plenty of online surplus/survival shops that offer them. How comfortable would you feel giving them your social security number to put on them?

For a Zombie Apocalypse, dog tags are useless, as pointed out.

Economic collapse or Natural Disaster, tags would be good, if nothing more, than to identify a dead body.

If you want a set, look in the phonebook for the local military surplus store. The ones around here make dog tags while you wait.

Well, I'll probably still get the tags. At least I can be tracked easily if seriously injured and am found by, or dropped off at a hospital, should there be any functioning. I'd also want the people who care about me to have a chance to know if I died or became infected. Peace of mind.

Also, I know they aren't official ID, but they are less destructible than my paper ID - no matter how well it's laminated or sealed. Rebuilding will have to happen, and I'm sure our government has its databases well backed up. I won't be ashamed to be on the rebuilding welfare system if it comes to that. Since we are talking about the government, maybe I should tattoo my birth certificate on my back in front of a notary too. ;^)

I'll tally the zombie take-downs on the back of the main tag. :thumb:

Pssst! Technovapir, the last line where he put Jedi is for preferred religious ceremony after death.
Yep I know. She-Wizard is my own private religion. I want to be interred in a hot volcano at dusk & have bats released into the night instead of Doves, while a shaman recites from the Egyptian book of the dead. None of the normal religious choices seemed to fit. All of that is a moot point of course, if Mac picks me up instead and makes me a waitress at his undead lounge. Either way. I'm good.

I think I just fell a little bit in love:wub:

If anyone was wondering how good the Mutt's Fire and Ice ejuice from Vaporbomb is, the answer is: AWESOME! If you like cinnamon at all or better yet Atomic Fireball's, you'll love it. I got the package in yesterday afternoon and I haven't stopped vaping it since. My only regret was not getting a 30ml bottle instead of the 10ml. On a side note, they threw in a free bottle of white chocolate with the order and I guess once the awesome factor wears off or the juice runs out, I'll try it too.

So I know this was like a month ago but I feel the need to address a few things.
1. There was vegan zombie in non-spoof Day of the Dead (2008)
2. Animals getting the virus.... moot point as far as preperation goes. Most resouces seem to indicate no. If you recall in Dawn of the dead they acctually sent a dog through a herd of zombies and it was completely ignore. However what make the point moot it is that in the resouces in which aminals can get the virus the animals DO NOT become souly canibilistic and attack humans. There are 133 specis of Rats and mice. Of those 133 only the Desert Rat-Kangaroo is considered endagered Though estimates are hard to come by I think its safe to say that but even were to to assume that only half of theses specis .... never mins Ill finish this later..... maybe
