Instead of HOW I got started, I'll tell you WHY I got started...nicotine fits and desperation from spending an entire day in an auto with my non-smoking parents!!!

They are so sweet and as ex-smokers, were okay with waiting for me while I had a smoke, but the trips to one of the 3 nearby towns took between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on which one we traveled to. Trust me, by the time we got there, I was ready to scream for nicotine, getting a bit (?) snippy and...
...okay...
...honesty here...
...I was feeling positively EVIL!!!

When my first disability check came in, I had googled "nicotine substitutes" and found out about e-cigs. I kept searching until I found someone in the area who sold them. Unfortunately, it was a guy selling the ones that I have since heard such bad things about; I couldn't reach him for refills, and I gave up on them...but not on my dream of a relaxing drive with my parents. After 2 years, and losing my fear of buying anything online, I checked on the e-cigs again.

Ta-da...I found this place, read the forum for many weeks, and finally decided to join ecf so that I could ask questions.

End of the first book in this trilogy. Look for book 2, "Sanity Awaits", coming soon.

Book II

It was a dark and stormy night...or, maybe...just maybe...it was a bright sunny morning...who the heck knows. Anyway...

Being on a limited income, I had two fears: running out of cigarettes and running out of toilet paper! Did I really say that, she asks with a red face? I was saving for a starter kit, which led me to finding a new fear--that the $29.99 Riva bundle would not be available the following month when I'd have saved enough.

Get ready, this is the part of the story where the hero (or in this case, hero-ette) comes to the rescue. Yes, a wonderful angel, bless her generous heart, said she had an extra kit and would send it to me. This wonderful woman, (she knows who she is) not only sent me the kit, but a backup and extras--liquids, carts and some cartomizers, too. She sent them to me...a total stranger...out of the goodness of her heart! And, since I haven't had to buy any more cigarettes, I was able to "pay it forward" this month, with a request that it gets paid forward, too.

Book #2 is now ended.

Book III

A monster has been born. The smell of smoke fills the air and she begins to change, to transform into something she would never have believed possible. With a smile on her face that hides her diabolic purpose, she stalks the unwary. Slowly reaching into the suede bag that hangs round her neck, she brings forth her magic wand and touches it to her lips. A single touch, a slow indrawn breath. She knows they watch and wonder at her actions. As the air around her fills with vapor, they are mesmerized. “Is…is that…uh…”

Reaching into her bag once more, knowing that she has drawn them into her web, she pulls out a card and hands it to one of her prey. With timid hands they take the card and are bitten. It has begun. She has infected them with the hunger.

“Yep. It’s an electronic cigarette. No smoke to offend others, just harmless water vapor.”

Not a vampire, but a vaper. What did ya expect, huh? She’s a little gray-haired granny, y’know.

The End

Well, I have told you how I started and why I started, how I converted some people (and am always trying), but what I haven't told you is why I will never EVER go back to analogs...

John lounging.jpg

His name is John and he is my world. (and hubby doesn't mind being second man in my life one bit :D)

Thanks to this wonderful forum and the vendors and members here, my son will not have to worry that mommy can't breathe when she runs, or mommy has to stand outside for a few minutes to smoke instead of driving him to the park, or mommy smells yucky or for that matter that mommy is not here anymore because something bad happened when she smoked. :(

Thanks to the support from everyone here and vaping, my son will have his mommy for a long time.

And for that I am eternally grateful.

Yesterday my beloved was off work so I took advantage of the chance to get in some practice. I have more performances coming up in June than any sane person should ever agree to do. Oh, wait, the key word there is sane.

Anyway, I loaded up my PVs, grabbed the laptop, CD player and my notebook and headed off to the pool deck. Temps were well over 80 so I thought I'd practice for an hour and a half or 2 hours tops. I managed to get in 4 hours of shimmys. Something that 6 weeks ago I could've NEVER done. I'd of been far too winded. I figure I have a couple dozen more of those coming up in the next 3 weeks. I'm more thankful, every single day, that I've given up analogs so I can perfect my craft!

I was trying very hard to quite, had a baby on the way, and yadayada, only had luck using chantix, but only if i was taking it. once i stopped i was right back to it. Did not want to be taking pills forever so i eventually came back to cigs again. Then one day i was on craigslist and saw an add for an ecig. It caught my attention, so i started researching and ended up getting an over priced kr808 kit with horrible prefilled carts, that i waited 3 weeks for. But with the investment i already had in and some more research i started filling my own and made a 510 device and i have not had a cig since. love it, been smoke free for about 6 months.:)

I just wanted to mention, since the vaping journey is my MiL as well as I, that she is doing wonderfully. Granted, she's not totally off analogs just yet. She's afraid of running out of juice at this point (hence the package going out tomorrow). However, last we talked to her they'd gone to have dinner with friends and she took her e-cig with her. My FiL began boasting to this other couple about how she was using it, at my "urging" if you will, to quit analogs. He's so very proud of her and that makes me happy. If your husband/wife/etc. doesn't smoke and you do it can be a bone of contention. These two have only been married a little over 2 years (though they've known each other since my husband was but a twinkle in his mothers eye) and the less you have to argue over, the better IMHO!
