Well my father died when i was 7. My dads side -my grandpa -grandma and 2 uncles help raise me. So at christmas I honor them by remembering the good memories and the difference they made in my life.

This memory is of my dad who died dec 2nd. I was 7 years old. He died on the road. he was a truck driver. For christmas i made a card for him. That made me feel a bit better. On christmas my mother hands me a present from my dad he picked up on the road a month before. It was a pilsbury dough boy rubber doll. I knew no matter where he was he thought of me and loved me. That was the best christmas gift i ever got.

Another reason i told this is for all the other people who have lost loved ones try not to let it get you down on the holidays -they would not want that. They would want you to celebrate their lives, memories and they will always be in your heart. So smile when you think of them.

Happy Holidays everyoen :)

I can remember when I was little going to my grandparents house and all they had was a little table top tree and all around the tree is where the presents were and on Christmas day all the presents from Santa would be all around the tree on the floor..We would gather around the coal stove and open presents..lol

I remember one Christmas my husband and I didn't have the money to buy a tree. So we decided to go out in the country and cut down our own. Those trees looked like the real thing but they weren't the good kind like pine or cedar. It was some kind of scrub tree and the needles stung our hands and made them itch like crazy...I mean for days. We got it home but we had to decorate it with gloves on, lol. :D I'll never forget that....it's still a good memory.

Here, there, everywhere!
Decorating Christmas cookies with Mom and siblings every year.

We always saved one cookie and mixed all the icing colors together and made the ugliest cookie with tons of icing on it for my Dad. Mom passed away 4 years ago so we were still doing it when I was 39:) He loved it, going to do it this year if I have time:)
