These rants and the ones from the anti smoking/you didn't really quit people that we used to get everyday are why there is a minimum.
I think I smell a troll.

Ok sorry provari I've seen for sale on 160, still doesn't help much. As for the MVP for 49, would love to see where (though I wouldn't buy one, I don't want a box style, my hand doesn't close to a box, neither should my vape. And before someone brings up the argument phones are different because they have a screen). As for giving it a chance, why else would I postUm, Provari...NOT $200, and I recently bought an MVP for $49, and no, not from a coop. A decent mech can be had for under $60, and a good RBA for even less. Just look around a bit.
And this is a GREAT forum. I have gotten so much from ECF that I became a supporting member. This is my favorite forum that I am a member of. I have met some of the nicest people here. Just give this one a chance.
Oh, and welcome. Good to have you here, even if your not feelin it yet.![]()
Um, I was going say "Welcome to ECF", but now.....
Sorry you think the "kiddie pool" sucks. I'm new here, and I got my 5 posts in only 30 minutes....mainly by saying "thank you" to the people who welcomed me. Then I was off to jump in the "grownup pool". Granted, we need 10 or 15 posts (I think) to get a signature, but really, that's not a big deal either. As a beginner, I find myself coming to the beginners forum a lot anyway.
Sounds like maybe you could ask the suppliers as to why their costs are at a place that you don't agree with.![]()
I sure get tired of people complaining about the 5 post thing. how long does it really take to make 5 posts.
and this isn't the "kiddie pool" (even though the 5 post complainers seem kiddie like). as you can see, vets come here ...........
*cleaning up *
............... As for asking the suppliers, I've sent emails, you think they answered?
.
If the only excuse you can come up with is it doesn't take so long, the reverse could be applied towards what you're trying to prevent, or am I wrong?.....
It's fine, I expected as much with the tone of my first message if people didn't stop to think and see whether what I brought up made sense or not or just said this guy sounds like he's an ... based on his tone so I'll disregard everything else in it. I'm saying whoever made that rule made a bad one as far as I'm concerned. You don't attract users with signup restrictions from the get go. I totally understand restricting access to the classifieds thread to build a reputation, that's perfectly legitimate. But requiring this doesn't prove anything.Okay, you're right, I came off really harsh but seeing this was your first post and it starts with a rant, well, that's not a very good introduction. I don't make the rules here but someone that does decided that a 5 post rule was needed here. I do belong to other forums and unless they are constantly policed, there will be spam.

No, this technology isn't new, the application is, arguably. Again these are the same components found in a variable intensity flashlight from the reading I've done, and those flashlights are hundreds of times more durable. Why? As for the idea of value vs cigarettes yes you're right, but that isn't the only way to look at it. Just because you're saving money on cigarettes doesn't mean that (if what I've figured out so far is right) it's ok for ecig makers to charge absurd markups. For that matter, what the hell is this idea of stainless steel finishes? We're going to make a (fairly heavy) stainless steel tube that people carry around all the time, there's going to be no issues with grip, right?I understand the frustration, I don't agree with some of your points, and for what it's worth, I'll add in my 2 cents.
Vaping supplies are, in comparison to cigarettes, good value. You have to remember this technology is actually fairly new and prices / quality will improve drastically. Just look back a year or two ago and see where we are now.
If you want something that is able to take a beating, get a mechanical mod. They have no delicate parts as such and are very robust. Saying that, my spinners have been dropped numerous times on concrete and never once let me down but there you go.
Massive costs come from smaller production runs. A lot of these companies are doing small runs with higher setup costs. This is not a massive consumer goods market yet - although it's growing rapidly - hence my earlier comment about price and quality improving. You will pay more for higher end mods - but you also have to realize, most of them could almost be called hand-made and bespoke which costs more.
This forum - are you kidding me? Pretty much any mod, battery, accessory, carto, clearo, tank etc. etc. etc. has been discussed on these forums. If it hasn't, and you start a thread, I almost guarantee someone on here will be able to add something to the discussion.
I know it's frustrating and I'm not going to flame you for being frustrated, but if you can stick around on the forum for even a few hours, you'll have those 5 posts (and the new member forum is actually the fastest moving and most interesting IMHO anyway) and be able to post in the other areas. You can still read them even if you don't have the 5 posts, so I really don't understand why the issue.
Welcome to the awesomest forum on the internets for everything vape related. Hope you stick around...![]()
When you pay for quality, you only cry once. I was a 35 year PAD smoker and that cheep throw away junk got me off analogs. Ya it was crap, but from this form I learned there was much better out their. My collections of Provaries now serve me well. The Foggatti that sits atop is awesome, cant wait for the Kayfun's to arrive... $pent a small fortune getting to where I am today and if I had to do it again I'd probably go the same route 'cause I now really appreciate the quality and know I'll never light up another analog again.
Vaping isn't just a habit, its a hobby and I'm loving it.
Since most people have so many questions that they're just going to ask in the kiddie pool and have answered anyway, what is the point of this? You've already got spammers like jarhead earlier that just take advantage of it and get in anyway, and you're not limiting new members to only introduces themselves and getting the information you want, so what are you doing? This forum is more than helpful i cant see why you attack it. 5 posts before you can enter the proper forum wasn't a problem to me. Any questions i just asked them in the noob section and they where answered within minutes. Most people have plenty of questions to ask and before long i could post on the other sections to get my specific questions answered. Your problem seems to be that you dont like being put in the kiddy pool but if you can have yours questions answered there whats the issue ? There isnt a "comprehensive listing of the types of PVs" out there because it would be an incredible amount of work for someone. And to review the products to find out if they are knock offs would cost thousands. Why havnt you made a list ? Why havnt you invested hundreds of hours making a list of every possible PV ? Don't expect other people to do the work for you if your also not willing to put in the effort.
Im more than thankful for the amount of information that is on this site and if you have a problem ask it and you will get help but beyond that theres nothing we can do for you. My kit that i got for less than £40 which makes a kit for 2 has been dropped, kicked, stood on and damn near thrown across the room and hasnt broke yet i think you just had a bit of bad luck there.
Rant over.

You pay more for a ferrari for about a billion reasons (you just brought this up to an auto guy lol). Horsepower, build quality, exclusiveness, prestige, and the joy of using it. Yes you could make the argument that that's why you buy a provari, but unlike the provari or nice mech mod, but there's a difference in pricing gap. Take for example the audi brand (not vw group), it's a luxury automaker (and does include lamborghini), yet there margins are only around 12% as at 2011 (Volkswagen Group - Annual Report 2011 - Audi). My point is these vapes have seemingly got very high double digit margins, and you're saying you're paying for quality.Well, as far as the costs are concerned, (though, admittedly my first purchase was and eGo and not a ProVari) I look at it this way: I am holding something in my hand. My dad used to say, my money should result in something. One month ago today, I received my eGo. Prior to that, I bought packs of cigs and burned them. BURNED them. There was nothing to show for my money other than ashes and butts. And just WHY does a Ferrari cost more than a Kia (love my Kia, would love a Ferrari, but it's not in my budget)? This here...this Forum, MY FAMILY OF VAPERS...I took the time to post my questions in the New Members Forum. I did not make my first purchase from anyone here. I had my kit by the time I registered. So, when I joined and had questions, no one was trying to sell me anything. But my 5 posts were responded to. My questions answered. I was welcomed, encouraged, helped and cheered as the days without cigarettes continued. Have I had setbacks and disappointments? Yes! I will post my concerns following forum rules, because we respect each other here. We don't always agree. But we respect each other. I am sorry the OP had equipment that did not work for them. I care for my equipment and I take care with it. It's mine. I value my "stuff". When the manufacturer makes the product, they make it to perform a specific task. I don't think they are in the lab thinking "how can we drop this, to see how much abuse it can take before it breaks?". I encourage the OP to create something better! I am always on the lookout for good products, that others have tried and have taken time out of their lives to review, so that I can make a better informed decision. I know there are products out there that I have not tried that are better than what I have. If I buy something and it doesn't work, for the most part every vendor I have worked with has been willing to assist in making it right. Please don't come here to blast away. There are people who will answer your questions in the New Members Forum, and vendors on this site to assist if you have an issue with a product, for the most part. Hopefully the OP has expressed their concerns to the appropriate people, and is getting proper customer service. If not, live and learn. Hopefully a turn back to analogs is not the OPs answer.

Wow. Just...wow.
I'm a Mod on a non e-cig forum (a blade/sword forum), and I'll tell you that having small newbie stipulations is NOT about some "inferiority complex" thing. We get people all the time from kids posting stupid crap like "wer can i get da best ninja sword for cheap haha" to adults that study a sword art or knife making for 6 months and all of a sudden they're experts and complaining about how much better they could handle the forum,to knockoff vendors that join in pretending to be a genuine person but end up spamming the boards with their company's junk. Those people get canned if they can't agree to to disagree, argue in an adult and mature manner and not flinging muck at each other. Sure there are people that will post mundane stuff here just to get their posts up, but the Mods can't change a rule for one person and drop a 5 post prerequisite just because you can vouch for yourself. Try to see it from the Mods point of view
Mods are volunteers with jobs/kids/other important stuff, and don't wait24/7 at their screens with baited breath to see if someone complaining emails the Mods, and if someone is canned its usually not because Mods want to have a bigger {MODERATED} than anyone else. At least for me anyway,...I'm a gal and don't feel the need to "have to feel important".

Lol alright, figured as much, I'll go through this nice and slow
Lol, no it's more that I'm pretty ...... about this Vamo VV deciding to become half assed on me after a 2 foot drop.
Thanks, unlike some of the others you try to be nice. This site seems like it might be a great source, but this 5 post count thing is just prohibitive and there are easier ways to deal with spam users that I've seen implemented. Most people want information NOW and answers just as fast. Doing this just makes it so people who may have joined who genuinely did want to learn and contribute decide forget it I'll find somewhere else to get my answer now instead. Case in point, I've known about/looked at these forums for the past 2 months, it hasn't been until now after exhausting other sources that I've even decided to sign up here lol.
Thanks, that's great, but doesn't resolve the issue.
You not so much. I never said there wasn't good info here did I? I said no comprehensive information. When I refer to a site, I'm looking for something more like somewhere that covers stuff coming out, what's going on, and etc with an AUXILLARY forum. If you want an example something like Tomshardware for the pc community, or guru3d. Hell it doesn't even need to be that big. You will always be able to eventually get information in a forum, but it's more for specific queries and opinions, not for a general overview that most people will go to a forum. The make my own argument is just stupid so I'll leave it alone, suffice it to say if I could or wanted to make my own I wouldn't be on here saying what I am would I? Your 5 post forums that have too much spam is a laughable one. I could rattle off a dozen different non-PV non-min post to do stuff forums that work absolutely fine with little to no spam (tomshardware, anandtech, guru3d, overclock.net, hardforums, the list goes on, but as you can probably tell I'm very big on hardware)
If you're not going to bother reading what I said or trying to incorporate/understand it, then why bother posting? why are they so expensive
