I've been using these for about a year now with good results for the past year. Why do I get some sudden pooling on my battery/gurgling in the tube?

I've made sure the post is centered, also didn't drip liquid down the center tube. I've noticed sometime the plastic tube starts to come out of the base, which I push down to re-seat. Usually I can fix this by taking off the mouth piece and blowing from the battery connection end. Then I twist a small piece of knapkin and dry out the tube inserting from the battery end. For the life of me I can't figure out how liquid is leaking down to my battery post. Maybe I'm just not realizing that I am filling too fast and getting some down the center post? Anyone else experience this?

I had the same problem and gave up. A few times I was able to stop the leaking by using needle nosed pliers and pulling the center pin down a bit. It would work OK for a bit then start gurgling and leaking. I too made sure I did not get liquid down the center but it made not difference. I gave up on them and moved on to a vivi nova and a protank.

I've run into this on many of them after a period of time, and I think that pin grommet is the culprit. Fortunately, it normally starts happening after about two weeks, so I eventually toss most for leaking, while the coil is still working OK. Some have gone nearly a month before it was significant. A drop on the center post of the battery is pretty normal with these, though, often from the outset.
