A wax or paste to help resist oxidation on brass?

Anyone have any success using a wax, paste or any other type of nonpermanent barrier to keep the shine up on their brass parts?

I am a drummer and my cymbals are all brass. They make a product called Barasso (I am sure I am spelling that wrong) but it works well to shine up brass. It doesn't do anything for imperfections but it will light it up a lot.

The trick is to make sure you get all of it out when buffing it (and using a clean rag). I still find little spots that I missed and have to hit them with a quick buff.

Ah, I think you mean Brasso, as a cleaner.

I've heard promising things about Renaissance Wax for a protective layer. I have not used it personally but it came up in a thread here.

For my brass mod I use Eagle One never dull wadding cleaner and Mothers Carnauba wax to seal it up.
