A weird problem

Got a Rive 510 yesterday. One of the batteries was already charged and it worked like a dream....I loved it. When bedtime rolled around I put it on the charger. This morning when I took it off and put the 510 together, the battery wouldn't work. I took the unit apart and THEN the manual button stayed lit up. Weird, right? I checked that all the connections were tight, but no luck. I had to back the atty out of the battery until the battery would stay on. Now my atty isn't tight on the inside and you can hear it kinda rattle around, but the unit is working again.
Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?
thanks,
Robyn

When I got my Riva I read the instructions and it said to charge the battery for 8 hours before use even if it goes green leave it on there! It also said at 8 hours take it off and use it 20 minutes then put it back on for 1 more hour even if it goes green! Then do the same with the 2nd battery! Don't know what that accomplishes other than maybe to condition the battery the first time on the charger! Was hard sitting here looking at it all day without using it but did it and so far no problems! Make sure and clean the threads well with a Q-tip before charging also! Don't know if it will help or not! Good Luck!
If your problem continues you may have to contact your vendor and ask for replacement!

Stupid question here, but are you certain you put it in the charger correctly? I know I once spoke with a guy who thought he either had a bad battery or bad charger only to find out he wasn't screwing the battery into the charger, simply popping it into the receptacle. Now, the stuck button light and rattling noises don't sound too promising. If all of your contacts are clean, it was charged correctly and everything is connecting properly then it sounds like a flawed battery.

Don't know what that accomplishes

Absolutely nothing other than frustrating a new owner who is eager to try out their new device. These batteries don't need conditioning in order to perform well or hold a charge properly. Don't forget, these instruction manuals are printed in China and the battery conditioning instructions are incredibly outdated, but still included in most rechargeable lithium-ion battery instruction pamphlets.
