^^Cool^^ Your facial expressions from a standard 510 ----> eGo was priceless.

Outside of cleaning attys for changing flavours, I have pretty much given up on it. I get what I consider extremely good longevity with them (3-5m), when they become sluggish I vape 'em at 5V until their demise. I usually get 1-3 extra weeks out of 'em.

I believe the key to atty longevity:

  • is keeping the VG reasonable;
    • no greater than 25%;
    • I personally keep mine at 20%;
    • VG requires to be diluted with distilled water at a ratio of 4/1 (for wickability). I dilute at 4/1 = 20% (some folks dilute at 5/1); and
    • when PGA is used in the mix, the PGA content is subtracted from the overall H2O content.
  • keeping artificial colouring to a minimum (flavours);
  • dark flavours do not vape as well and clogg atty;
  • keep the flavouring at reasonable levels (below 20%);
  • staying away from heavily "sweet liquids";
  • keeping the atty wet at all times (read not flooded) a flooded atty = short life; and
  • vaping at reasonable voltages wrt atty resistance.
The aforementioned tips provide a liquid with reasonable TH and vapour, but has a viscosity similar to PG.

I recently tried some Regal Beagle (a swap with BA) that is an 80/20 mix. It should be fine right? It doesn't flow with in carts. The culprit? It was never diluted with distilled water, other than that it is fine and the flavour absolute bliss. So I am dripping it at HV on an 901 :) <---- not by choice as I am not what is to be considered a dripper.

Keep it up buddy!

There's a lot of knowledge you have that can really help.

Thanks BA!

When I started it, I didn't have a direction per se. I didn't want to produce what was already out there, so it went stagnant for a period. Inked was the one that lit a fire once again :) with his suggestion of a 101. But 101s are out there. So what to do?

As stated I am working on several projects, these are good and indeed will be added in due course. Nope! that is not it...

Spurred by Inked and frustrated in retrieving posts where I discussed this or that, I needed a place to quickly retrieve the information. During many discussions I found myself breaking down "technical information" into layman terms, or something folks can relate to. Not being conceited, I found that I always had the ability to explain things using metaphors, this I could/can do usually flying from the seat of may pants. Ahhhhhhhh, the direction. This is where I want to go....

An educational, yet amusing read whilst helping the community towards a better understanding (of equipment and vaping) and hopefully vaping nirvana in the process.

As this project gets off the ground, my intent is to have a running blog with daily entries.

some GREAT info on there!! I wish I found it sooner like before I started reasearching all this stuff... Although I think I was definitely introduced into the vaping world at a great time with the eGo... I find it does everything I want ... and yes I've definitely gone "Mod Crazy" :p

I eagerly look forward to your daily entires :)

Thanks folks. One of the things I left TO with was the smile you had on your face when you found your little piece of vaping heaven. That and the enthusiasm displayed by Happy Jack wrt to his attitude and his desire to convert as many smokers as possible to vaping.

Now from a business point of view, this would make sense, but there was more there that met the eye. Vaping was not something that is discussed on forums, it is sharing successes with like minded folks. That is waht I left TO with. This type of "je ne sais quoi" was also alive and well during Midway Vapefest, spreading the joy and the Karma.

I am indeed blessed with "time". I truly enjoy assisting/helping folks through their individual struggles towards remaining smoke free.

My blog was started as an appendix to my bonsai blog, where perhaps folks not familiar to the vaping scene could find information. The original blog was designed to collect the vast information it contained, in one place vice several forums. As my research grew here, I found myself having to dig up old posts and searching through links etc... So I decided to develop Vape Central in a similar fashion. A compendium of information held in one place, for all to enjoy and reduce the overwhelming transition to vaping.

As I am nearing completion of two major projects I have been working on, I will now be able to concentrate on increasing the informational content of Vape Central. I do not want to repeat what is already out there, and therefore Vape Central will not take on that look. No, it will be a place to store important information of a more technical nature, not easily found navigating through the sea of information contained here at ECF. There is so much information contaiined here that we often cannot see the forest for the trees.

In other words the direction I want to take is a place on the interwebz where a new vaper can readily find all the information he or she needs in a one stop shopping sort of place, to be on their way to being smoke free with as shallow a learning curve as I can make it towards their individual vaping nirvana.

was that inspired by me? ;)

Thanks for the battery FAQ, and congrats on having it posted on Ikenvape's website :cheers:

Nope, it was one of the projects I was working on for some time (before the meet), which was a gift for my friend Isaac. Happy Jack received a copy as well for his site. The info is proprietary and will only be found on those 3 sites.
