You could always look into making your own. I've heard of people using bathroom/kitchen caulk from a hardware store instead of industry specific silicone.
There is a rubberized paint that you drip your item in and let drip dry creating a rubber grip or cover. This can then be cut along a side to be removable, just make sure it is the silicon based rubber paint and not the rubberized spray stuff. That stuff acts like tar and sucks for this purpose. I saw someone do it with a product called Plasti Dip 11601.
There's a silicone putty you can use that would work perfect. I saw it at a site for inventor's supplies. There's a thread here somewhere about that site, see if I can find it.
polymer clay on the outside would look awesome. They also make sticks.........so if you are a girl & want this type of case, you can add flowers, hearts, butterflies..........whatever.

Nice find, and it comes in multiple colors too!!! I wonder if you would need to coat the mod in some sort of release before applying so it would slide off easily, like Pam or something...
