Thanks. I have a lot of Puck info bookmarked. It uses AAAs (and I have 4 sets of 4 AAs already) but I might have to learn how to mod.

Don't worry. If I do, I'll post with enough lead time that everyone can clear out of the NY Metro Area for safety sake.

A quick BIT of advice if you do start modding. Get a set of these for making holes in boxes. They work well, easy to control and don't pull like twist drills. I do all my work at my desk and don't anything like a workshop. Put down a drop cloth or old sheet and go to town! Of course I get most of my stuff from Radio Shack or Madvapes.

Happy Modding!

I started with AAA pucks, but now use 2 AA box, one holds 3 batteries, and the other 1 with loads of room for the atty connector, switch, led, bottom feed bottle if wanted....:) They work great, but you can't drop them very often..:( (so I'm a klutz) they are easy to repair and cheap to just build another.

The 1.6v NiZn batteries work very well with the 2.0 ohm dual coil tanks, 2ea 4 ohm coils fed at about 6.5 volts :vapor:

So the bottom line seems to be that no one sells mods designed to use NiMH batteries but you can make a Puck (or, I assume, other mods) that uses AAA or AA batts.

I have two working MBMs now so I have a little time to learn by the trial and failure method. I guess the next step is to figure out how to use the chuck to change the bit on my drill. Then comes the building.

Thanks for the input.
