Abbreviations and Slang

I looked at the thread called "Abbreviations" and expected to find a list explaining what things mean. What I saw was a thread with 1182 posts to sort thru. I have figured most things out - but still have questions.
Is there anywhere a list of abbreviations or slang or equipment names explaining what things mean ??
