ABC News has announce this morning the results of an E-Cig study which will be reported tonight on the news at 6:00pm EST. The leader of the story is harmful chemicals found. Here we go again. I have seen no national media reporting the studies that have shown positive results for the E-Cig community. Media Bias? We will see later tonight. :(

I will give you a synopsis since the story aired at 6:15pm at the local network level in the City of Detroit. If I can devise a link I will post it later.

The program was introduced by a local reporter as "Dangers of E-Cigarettes. whats' really in the vapor? A new study provides information. Other cities are restricting their use". It opened with a local vaper in the industry stating the good things. Next a study by Stanton Glantz PHD of UCSF which found aluminum and copper in E-Cigs. This is where is gets interesting. The aluminum was found in the Smoking Everywhere brand and the copper in the Mistic brand. Only one metal was found in each brand. First both these brands are cartomizer brands. OK here is where the flaws pop up. First it was emphasized the vaper was in the industry immediately slanting his statements as self serving. Next what were the concentrations of the metals? No mention. Dr Glantz stated how the Nicotine "Deeply" inhaled in the lungs is the delivery method and these metals go through the lungs into the body and lodge in other organs. That sounds like the lungs are safe to me anyway! Did they find any other contaminants? Appears not or I am sure they would have been presented. Dr Glantz closed with the statements E-Cig by-standing vaper has 10 to 20 percent of the risk of regular cigarettes. Huh? 2 contaminants of unknown concentrations vs 4,000+ in tobacco cigarettes are 10 to 20 percent % the risk? It is fairly obvious these tests are deliberately skewed and presented in a slanted manner. I wonder who funded Dr Glantz's study? Too bad the media is not on our side.
