It's probably going to be subjective. Personally I use plain 26g kanthal single coil builds in the .7 range and 2.5mm ID coils and have tried claptons , imo there wasn't a real noticeable difference. I would definitely give it a try and you might feel it has better flavor. In the end however it may not be the actual clapton, but perhaps the wire itself. your vaping nichrome at the moment and the clapton might be SS, so there can be a difference in flavor just in the wire itself.
i have a Ni 80 2.5 mm coil with 7.5 ohm 26 ga i like it the seller said the fused Clapton would work i use 20 to 25 waits would it be good for flavor at low waits its a 5 ohm coil the claton

Personally i stopped using claptons as much when i noticed how quickly it drained my batteries, as claptons need more power to make them worthwhile.

These days i'd take a normal round wire build over any claptons in existance just for battery life (i do think i get more flavor out of those too) .
