Hey everyone!

I quit smoking around the bitter end of December, after giving my partner what I decided would be my last pack of cigarettes as a Christmas gift. As that final pack of Camels dwindled into just 3 cigarettes, I began to panic. I wasn't ready. But I had already made a commitment, so before I ran dry, I picked up a tradional NJOY from the gas station to help ease myself into cessation.

The first drag was disappointing. I was already missing my cigarettes and beyond the similar size and feel, the NJOY wasn't doing much for me--then went dead sooner than I expected. Short on money and still not sold on vaping, I continued to get by on convenience store disposables (and a real cigarette here and there), from Blu to Logic, etc. I actually enjoyed the Logic disposables (still do actually) but I felt like there had to be better. From there, I researched. I was bombarded with five star reviews of brands like V2, Green Smoke and other cig a likes, all of which were still out of my price range at the time.

I continued using Logic disposables until one day I decided to stop into a local head shop, to browse options and see if they had a well performing cig a like. Thankfully, the girl working the counter convinced me to go a different route. I left with an unbranded, 1000 mah ego T in hand and a menthol e liquid, and I was blown away. Just when I had thought that vaping might not be for me, I was shown that it could be just as satisfying, if not more satisfying than smokes. I continued to buy new liquids, new clearomizers and I am still using this set up as we speak, with a Kanger T2 that has been serving me well so far.

I will be looking to upgrade soon (SUGGESTIONS ARE APPRECIATED :p) and I've been looking at everything from a VV batt to the Vapor Zeus to maybe even a mod. Whichever route, I am so glad to have made the switch to vaping, and proud to be a part of this community. :)

Outstanding story wolverineLEX! Welcome to our big happy family!
You did good in your decision and I commend you for sticking with it! If you're looking to upgrade already, and it really doesn't surprise me, I would just stick with the ego style since it seems to really be working for you... Perhaps you could look into the eGo Twist/Vision Spinner to get your VV fix and pocket a few bucks that would have gone to the smokes for something that really gets your attention. You got a whole world of juices to explore! Get yourself some back-ups that are compatible with your clearo's. The Spinner/Twists are excellent devices and the eGo/510 threading on the units will allow you to explore the other options available such as ProTanks, Aspire, Carto-Tanks, etc.
If you really want to jump up to a higher end device that is rocking the vaping world... the Innokin MVP2 is probably one of the best things going for the new user looking for better performance and battery life while still keeping it simple and safe. Remember the key phrases here... Back-up's for your back-ups and drink plenty of water and you can go wild!

Oh, and an additional Welcome from a fellow NYS vaper!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on beginning your journey into vaping.

Sounds like you have a great start and a great setup to begin with...so gratz on that also.

There is a lot of information here that at times can be overwhelming, one thing I did want to point out in your post, you currently have an eGo type battery which is probably a 510/eGo threaded device, the item you mentioned was the VaporZeus and I am pretty certain it is a different type of connection. I believe VaporZeus is 808 threaded and your Kanger T2 would not work on it.

808 vs 510.jpg

Both of these pictures have eGo threading (that is the lower threading), but the difference is the very top.

Read, learn and ask as many questions as needed, there are a tremendous amount of knowledgeable people here in the forum willing and happy to help.

Welcome! I joined just recently as well and this place is great for suggestions and answers to any question you may have :)

If you're looking for something that works well yet flexible AND doesn't cost too much, you should look into the iTaste MVP 2.0 (as above mentioned) or the iTaste SVD with whatever 510 threaded clearomizer you wish. I know that fasttech has them both for fairly cheap (40$ or lower) and it's an awesome upgrade that won't break the bank! Good luck vaping~

Wow... nice catch!
You may have just figured out the problem my co-worker is having with his knock-off!
Thanks!
I'll give you the credit...

Thanks UnclePsyko - and I appreciate your comment. I've been on this forum for about 17 months and one of the biggest problems I see is not completely reading the op completely.

Lots of great people here trying to help many, many new people and some of the small details are overlooked with a quick glance over.

I personally started out with an 808 threaded device and pretty much stayed in the thread of the vendor I purchased from, after branching out a bit into other threads, I found way too many instances of people suggesting other items that didn't work with the original starter kit I purchased.

Glad I could be of help ... ;)

Welcome from another new member. The amount of info you can get from this site is priceless. I don't know how heavy of a smoker you were but I am sure you've noticed the money you've saved but not buying a pack every day. All that money saved can go towards a innokin V3. And I would recommend the Kanger T3S's or a pro tank 3. Congrats on the change sir and welcome.

Wow, thank you all for your supoort and suggestions! It's so nice to hear from people that know what they're talking about AND that have had the same experience with quitting smoking. It can be a somewhat harrowing experience when you're surrounded by people that think e cigs are "cheating" or "unsafe." Hah. Anyways, again thank you all!

The iTaste MVP is appealing, but would you guys say that a VV batt like a Spinner/Twist can offer a similar performance? I know this shouldn't be an issue but I'm not too keen on box-looking mods, which is why I've been considering a Zeuz as well--the form factor is super appealing, and proprietary threading isn't a big issue for me. I do find myself sometimes frustrated with tinkering and an ideal device for me would work well as it is, without that need to continue buying more clearos and carts and so on and so forth to chase a perfect experience. I hope I don't sound close minded here, I really am open to pretty much anything! If I had it my way, I would just buy em all. :)

Heh... e-cigs "cheating"... "unsafe"... indeed! They're just jealous! :D

A Spinner/Twist battery will give a similar performance to the MVP, not exact but similar. The MVP is VV/VW and uses a different frequency than the Spinner/Twists, but that's a whole other thread!

You can't really go wrong with any of the mentioned, except maybe the Zeus. That's a mechanical device and not a VV/VW (if you're already aware of the specifics, just ignore that part...)
