I only rarely smoke cigarettes if my friends offer them to me, and have a pipe or cigar every so often. I enjoy the feeling of nicotine and everything but i'm not hooked on it but I am tempted to get an e-cig because a lot of people I know have them. Is it a good idea to get one if I want to avoid getting hooked? How can I avoid getting addicted to nicotine? I just want to use it around bedtime or when i'm stressed or to get schoolwork done etc...

Just stay away from the nicotine man. If you're anything like me you've already decided that you want an e-cig and there's nothing anyone can say to stop you, if that's the case just buy 0 nicotine juice and enjoy the flavor. Everyone one of us that's hooked started by saying "I just want to use it around bedtime or when i'm stressed or to get schoolwork done etc..." then you add when I'm drinking, then you realize you're in college and all you do is drink. Pretty soon bam... you're just as addicted as anyone else. I think the only way to avoid getting addicted is to avoid it entirely. Nicotine is actually more addictive than *crap can't type these words here I remembered but you get the idea* according to scientists.

Agree with DanKnowsJack and Haktuspit. Nicotine is THE most addictive drug known to man. Stay the hell away from it. I'm a 2-pack a day smoker just getting started with vaping. Both of my parents smoked (and my grandparents). I started smoking back in elementary school. My babysitter got me started, "cuz smoking was cool, man ... ". This was back long before all the anti-smoking lobbying and the tobacco companies defending their products and product testing. I can still remember my parents telling me (as they were puffing away), "If I ever catch you smoking, I'm gonna tan your ... so bad you won't be able to sit down for a week!" They knew what it was that got them addicted ... even before the scientists told them. There was a reason they said they would tan my hide. They knew!!

Stay away from the nic juice.

I think the vision spinner is better than the twist, knurled knob at the bottom & easily readable voltage numbers

I agree. This is why my next eGo will be a Vision Spinner

Edit: I have the Joye Twist now. And yes, nicotine is addictive, stay away. I quit smoking cigarettes about 4 or 5 years ago and was smoke free for a while. Then started buy expensive cigars ($5-$20 each). I didn't inhale 99% of the time, but those cigars led me to the cheaper cigarello cigars (swisser sweet grape or blueberry were my main go-tos). The percentage of times I inhaled slowly started to increase to the point that I was hooked again. I fooled myself into thinking that since I had beat the beast before, that it would be easy to beat it again, but I sadly forgot just how hard it was to be victorious. Two days (ish) so far no 'gars.

I have the Joytech ego’s and they seem to work great and from my reading, very reliable! Are the vision ego’s as reliable?
    Anyone?

I can't speak from personal experience yet, but from what I hear Joye and Vision are the two 'genuine' brands. Although if someone told me Visions were modified Joye's I believe it. IMPO, I don't think you can go wrong with either.
