I hope some people here can seriosuly help me, ive made a couple of threads to no avail, i got my ego twist today with a atty, stardust and a mininova

all 3 different ones produce the same plasticy taste, i was saying burnt at first but its more plasticy hard to explain, some people tried to help me, ive been here for a good 4 hours now vaping on this mini nova and still the same disgusting taste i even had to buy a bottle of coke for every puff otherwise i hurl, im about to go back to greensmokes as all ive experienced is this and its absolutely awful, i was so excited to recieve my products today and its such a let down, alll 3 different items also stink of the same taste.

on the mininova i have gold and silver juice, again exactly the same taste i get from using the atty and the stardust.

Have you tried just using a regular atomizer or cartomizer as a comparison point? And knowing what voltage you are using, matched with the resistence (ohms) of your atty/carto would be helpful.

yes i have a regular atty i ordered to for flavour testing, the atty on the nova is currently 1.8 the one that was already pre ready out the box, voltage at the mo set to 3.6

When I use a new atty, some have primer in them and you have to blow it out through the batt end into a tissue, otherwise it tastes really nasty. Some do not have primer in them, but some do. It's possible you got one with primer in it and you never blew it out? If you never blew out the atty yet, try doing that. Then drip about 8 drops into it, let it soak in good about 30 seconds, then take small puffs to see if it's soaked in good and vaping right. If it starts to seem slightly nearing burnt taste, stop and put 2 more drops in. Do that until it gets going good and from that point forward you should be able to drip 2-3 drops at a time and vape it about 10-12 puffs before you need more. It takes some getting used to but I love dripping for flavor and more vapor. If you have any burnt taste from the atty, it's either because it had primer in it that wasn't blown out, or you are burning it too dry. When you first use a dry atomizer or one that you recently blew out, you have to put alot of juice in it to get it going again, then after that it's fine with 2-3 drops at a time.

This may have nothing to do with your problem, but I know that the Twist has a 2.5 amp switch regulator. They don't do well with low ohm atty/cartos. If you have an atty or carto that is 2.5 - 2.8 ohm, I would give that a try just to rule that out.

As far as the stardusts, if they are the ones that are cone shaped with the screw on caps, I don't know why you would be getting a burnt taste and that really makes me wonder. But there are some things out there called Stardust that are not the cone-shaped ones that I have had and they were burnt tasting and sometimes not good. Where did you get the stardusts from that you have so I can see which ones you are referring to?

ive tried all this, i blew through it onto a tissue till about 10 times till it was bone dry on the tissue then a further 10 times to be sure then dropped 8-9 drops into it, still the exact same taste again no matter how much i blow or how much i drop in, i even dropped so much in at one point out of frustration and it just flooded everywhere

Once you get that taste it will take a while to get rid of it. I hope that you did not burn these out with too high of voltage and no juice in that chamber when you first get them. I take a couple tokes with out pressing button on new items so it is not just dry burning in there. But here is what I did with my Vivi and it was by accident. I put my juice in and it was terrible when I was puffing on it. Let it sit over night and it was great in the morning flavor was great!

Well, as far as an atomizer goes, if you are getting that terrible a burnt taste after using it properly, then it sounds to me like your Ego Twist maybe is firing at too high a voltage. Have you been able to test it or know how to do that? Even cheap atomizers should not taste burnt if you juiced it the way you say you have. I'm sort of thinking it's the Twist that's the problem here.

Possible reason for odd flavor in Stardust style Cartomizer:

If you tried to hit it prior to letting it thoroughly wick into the coil, you may have burnt the wicking. Not sure why this occasionally happens but I've found that different vendors use different companies for their Ego Vision (stardust style) cartomizers. Some of the wicks are persnickety and if they aren't fully soaked will burn and every hit off that carto from then on tastes like crap.
I don't know that this is what happened, just offering a suggestion as to how it could have happened.
You can try lifting the little cone in the middle with a pair of tweezers which would also lift the silicone nub off the wick , possibly alleviating the choked wick if that is the issue.
One last suggestion, try taking shorter, lighter hits off the product. It's possible, especially since you're so close to having been a smoker, you are taking a "cigarette " style drag , that can strip a wick easily (not give it enough time to allow liquid to soak back up to the coil).

Maybe I'm way off base and wrong, but you should NOT be having so many burnt things on a new Ego Twist because it sounds like you are using it properly and honestly, the Stardusts are so fail proof that I recommend them to all newbs and they never really have this problem. I would return the Ego Twist and have them check it out if you aren't able to. Sorry, but that's my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I'm thinking here.

It's possible you used everything at too high a voltage and now the burnt taste is there for good? I dunno. I found this thread when researching to see if others were having a problem. Not sure if it helps but it's all I could find...http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ego-twist-vision-ego-clearomizer-problem.html

i used everything out the box, the twist came out the box at the lowest volt setting possible and i havent gone anything over 4 on any of them

I think DMF may be right here. The previous thread is here.
Dean, some people have had problems initially with the Stardust. They've recommended leaving it with juice in for days.
You're using 1.8 ohm and you went to 4 volts. There's a chart here showing optimal vaping by what ohms and voltage you use. You can click the chart to make it bigger.
Some of these things aren't always vapeable straight out of the box.
I suggest regular SR cartomizers at 3.7 volts so you can actually vape. In the meantime have juice soaking your stardust.
