About To Make First Mix

Just got my supplies from Alchemist Cupboard.

Going to make my first batch of Peaches and Cream.

If i dont reply to this in the next few hours, somethings gone terribly wrong

Okay, i may have lied a tad, i made a sausage sandwich first, was starving

However, the peaches and cream is made (5ml) and 2.5ml is in my aerotank with a new cotton wick and nicely cleaned aerotank.

Prepped the wick by dripping a few drops on to it.

Going to give it a few minutes before taking a vape on it

Well,
I think i might need a couple more drops of flavouring in it.

I made 5 ml of juice broken down like this(12mg aim):

Nic(72mg): 0.8ml
PG: 2.25ml
VG: 1.2ml
Flavour: 0.75ml (15 drops)

It has a bit more of a throat hit than i expected.
However, that might be these Aerotank coils, got some kanthal on the way to rebuild.

The flavour is by Capella.

Any recommendations from the more experienced guys?

Are you using a e-juice calculator to keep track of your recipes and changes? Or even write it down....it will help you in the long run.

Yeah im using "eJuice Me Up"
It was a very basic mix as it was a first one, but im trying to get into the habit of logging things straight away so i dont forget down the line

Oftentimes some steeping is required to bring out the full flavor.

Yeah i gave it a good shake, and put it in some hot water for 10 minutes.
But i couldnt wait.
So the 2.5ml ive got left im gonna leave in the draw.

Any good tips for steeping? Or just leave it in a draw for a couple of days?

I don't get too carried away with steeping. Just put the juice in hot tap water or water I've warmed in the microwave -- I do not warm the juice itself in the micro!! I'll reheat the water a few times or when I remember and call it good. I have real problems waiting to try new creations even though I do understand that time definitely can improve a juice. Now I am making slightly larger test batches to compensate for my inability to wait.

Hmm, i may just leave this small batch in some warm tap water for a while then and see how it tastes tomorrow

The warm water works for me, but I may get slammed by the steeping "purists"...lol. Again I do say that letting a juice sit for a spell can and does improve it.

Yeah, i done alot of reading last night as i couldnt sleep, and some were saying steeping helps, some were saying it doesnt, so i better find out for myself! lol

Whatever works for you is the best way to go. I don't fault anyone for doing what they feel works best for them and I hope they do the same for me!!

After vaping this all day, I think it might need a tiny bit of steeping to reach full flavour.

It's a very good flavour but there's just something not quite right with it after getting through 3/4 of a tank of my Aerotank.

Loving this DIY though!
Shouldve done this sooner.
It's so easy I don't know why more people don't do this!!!

Steeping brings out flavor. Tops on mind you. And tops off for only 12 hrs. Steep time ranges from 1 to 2 weeks depending.

Glad you had a good experience with your first mix. Keep with it and definitely check out those Inawera flavorings when you are ready to add to your inventory. Sirius is right.... they are awesome!!!

Since I didn't see anyone else mention it, you noted the # of drops of flavoring... it's generally a big no-no to measure anything by drops. They are completely inconsistent at best.

Don't mean to hi-jack your thread but I noticed you said you were aiming for 12mg of nic.

I have the same nic you got which I believe is 72mg/ml

So if you put 0.8ml in your mix, doesn't that make it 57.6mg or have I got something wrong?

Yes, but he's putting that 57.6mg into a 5ml total mix, so 57.6/5 = 11.52mg/ml
