You can get standard KR808 starter kit for that model for $30 at LiteCigUSA. They have less stuff in the kit though than V4L's kits. But a good cheap way to try the model. I know - mine is in the mail just to try the model.. lol.

If you want a "branded" KR808 then V4L is likely a good choice. If you don't give a hoot then $30 bucks I like.

Like i said before, the auto battery is apparently better with the V4L. It has a different activation mechanism. I was looking for the post but couldn't find it.

Just for the record, when I was using the 510 cartos were not available for it yet.

One other difference between the 510 and the VaporKing from V4L is the voltage difference ... 510 puts out ~3.1V fully charged, VK puts out ~3.7V fully charged. Makes a significant difference in taste and throat hit.

Jan

I cannot imagine vaping without carto's! Perhaps I am just a spoiled brat...;) I am looking forward to my KR. I thought for sure it would be in the mailbox today - no dice. I knew the KR is 3.7V and why i ordered it to test it out....

The first responder (jim) said not to buy a manual battery because juice can get into it. I'm sure he meant to say the automatic battery can die from getting juice into it. I prefer manual batteries because there is no hole in them where the cartomizer is connected, so no chance that liquid will get into the battery and kill it. A maual battery has a button on it that you need to push when you're ready to take a drag. The automatic battery has no button and will work as soon as you take a few primer drags.

One cartomizer, whether prefilled or refilled by me, lasts me about an hour and sometimes up to two hours (when I take a nap during that time). I'll vape (and empty) about 10 to 12 cartomizers each day, but I vape very often and sometimes, constantly.

Each cartomizer can be refilled many times by adding liquid. Each cartomizer can last for several weeks, but it depends on how many cartomizers you are rotating. That is, how often you refill each cartomizer. If you refill each carto every day or more than once each day, that carto will probably need to be replaced every two to three weeks. It also depends on how often you vape. If you only vape 2 or 3 times an hour (like 2 or 3 drags per hour), your cartomizers will last a long time.

You can also clean cartomizers, so they will last longer. When there's a funky taste, it's time to clean them or discard them.

There are tons of threads here that you can find by doing an advanced search. Search for the keyword "cartomizers" and change the drop-down box to "Search titles only."

From the point of another noob (about 2.5 months).... what they are saying is this:
A LOT of e-cigs are the same model....they just have the store's name on them.
In most cases, you can buy spare parts from other vendors for less.

I have not used the KR8, but I did get cartomizers and an adapter for my M401.
My batteries are not strong enough to give a good review, so I would suggest not getting a 401 until they make cartos.
Unless the cartomizers you are buying say they are empty, they will come preloaded.
Buy a few small bottles of fluid in different flavors so you can find what you prefer the most. Some of us end up not liking cig flavors at all.
There is a video here in the forums on how to refill cartos, its called the condom method.
Basically, use the little rubber cover to force fluid into the hole.....this will make life very easy.

I understand the information overload.
So, don't feel like you are asking too much.
This is a big investment (for most us), and its very life changing.
There are hundreds of us here to answer, and most of the seniors prowl the noob forums.
:)
Bring on the questions!

I would look into something like the ELEGANT EASY-FULL KIT from Electronic Cigarettes from Cigeasy - Home of the Easy E-Cigarette it's a third of the money and you will get 4 times the batery life. but it's your decision. This is a good 3.7 volt battery with the KR808d delivery system. I get about 6 full hours using one, and if you want to try dripping you can get a 901 addy to use with it.

Whatever you end up buying now will probably be replaced by you within the first month or couple of weeks. Most new users buy cheap quality (but expensive) starter kits and soon realize they are crap, and then they end up spending more money to buy eGo batteries or something similar before they're happy with the vaping experience. Why not spend some time reading some of the other Newbie threads and buy the best now. You'll save money and be happier.

Keep in mind that many of the responses and recommendations you'll receive to your questions are answered by other newbies (and possibly people who have their own e-cig business) who will recommend that you buy the type of battery they're currently using.

FYI: I've spent most of my time in the last month reading hundreds of threads, watching YouTube videos (some worthless and some good and some very good), and ordering better parts. I feel like I've been doing this for much longer than a month (received my first cheap but expensive starter kit a month ago today). When I say "expensive," I mean the cost for the cheap-quality starter kits is about three times more than the better stuff (that you'll end up with in the future, if you buy the cheap stuff now).

Many users will recommend that you use the condom method to refill cartomizers. I used that method for a while. However, after doing this for a month, I've found that simply dripping in about 20 to 30 drops into the filter inside the carto at the mouth end, holding the carto at a 45-degree angle, is much quicker, easier, and less messy. Just remove the white mouth cap, drip 20 to 30 drops directly into the filter -- all in one spot, it's better not to move around the filter, put the mouth cap back on, put the clear rubber condoms on each end of the carto, and store the carto (threaded-end down) for 24 hours (for the best taste).

If a carto is empty, it will take about 30 to 40 drops, depending on the size of the carto and the size of the drops. If a carto is being refilled, it will take 20 to 30 drops, depending on the size of the carto and how empty it is.

I have been finding that out. So which is better to use. Ive read allot of good stuff about V4l just wanna make sure buying right stuff to go with kit. Like if choose Marlboro get juice also? How will i know when to not use cartomizer? Ive also read you can clean them as well?

I posted my method of cleaning cartos this morning, determined after doing this for a month. Here is the link:

Yes,ordering from Vapor4Life, so the manual kit is better? Whats difference

It's very easy for juice to get into the hole at the connection end of an automatic battery. If and when that happens, the battery will usually die. Pushing a button when ready to vape is easy to get used to and would save having to buy lots of batteries in the long run. I now only use manual batteries.

Thanks for you quick reply! I would pm you but have no clue on how to..LOl so from what you said theyll last a week but you need to drop juice in them. SO when I get kit I will get 5 cartomizers but they wont have juice in them? SOmewhat confused because you pick a flavor and strength? Does that mean they send you juice also? Because I noticed they do have blank and flavored cartomizers. Sorry Im soo lost!

The only time I bought prefilled cartomizers: The taste was bad, and I had to drop in about 25 drops of my own liquid into each carto, because they were very dry (as if the liquid had evaporated before I received them in the mail). Avoid buying prefilled cartos, if you can. (And, yes, you can...)

Yay! Now that we've overloaded and scared you away, I will let you in on a little secret- you have at least picked a quality supplier for starters. Cignot is good too, and the Vapor Kings, and quite a few others, but V4L is as good as the best of them as well. If you don't like what you order, you can always post your gear on the swap thread, and try a different model or supplier.

If someone is looking at these they have a 3 day sale, code = NewLeaf. The discount is 23%, not bad.

Also, I mentioned in this thread (I think) about the $30 one I ordered (not from V4L) and I got it today and i do NOT like it. So maybe V4L is the way to go...I assume they are better but I have never tried it. Perhaps I just do not like the KR808 - that is also a possibility. I just do not know.
