Greetings all, I'm about to pull the trigger on a Reo Grand, and being pretty new at this, just wanted to verify I've done all my homework correctly. Can you help me verify this list of items will work, be decent choices, and be all I need to get up and vaping?

- Reo Grand - reosmods.com

- Cisco LR 306 atomizers (two, just in case) - Cisco LR306 Atomizer + Drip Tip Special - Avid Vaper

- 18650 battery charger - Amazon.com: Maximal Power FC18650 Rapid Dual Channel Charger for 18650 Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery with US Plug: Electronics

- AW 18650 batteries (two, for zero downtime) - AW IMR 18650 1600 mAh

- juice!

Also, three quick additional questions:

- Am I understanding correctly that the anodized finishes on the Reo are more prone to showing wear and tear over time than the non-anodized finishes?

- With the Cisco LR 306s above, is it necessary to remove the atomizer and/or drip tip from the Reo in order to feed the juice up from below?

- Will I be able to "flavor sample" wisely by swapping an empty bottle into the Reo, and dripping juice directly down the air hole of the atomizer?

Sorry if any of this is really elementary, I just haven't figured it all out with confidence after reading so many threads. I'm a dripping newb too... have exclusively been using cartos, CE3s and T3s up until now. Sick of nasty burnt filler, syringe fills, and gurgling! Hoping the Reo is the answer, as it seems to be for so many. I'm not quite ready to fuss with variable voltage, or start rebuilding my own atomizers though... yet. :)

The reputation of your group here precedes you -- it seems everyone says you're the nicest, most helpful, active, and loyal group of vapers on the net! I'm sorry to burden you with newbishness, but hope to return the favor as an expert in a few weeks/months!

If you want to try a new flavor while you're vaping just put a few drops in the catchcup of the REO, suck it up into the atty/carto and vape. :)

No need to remove the bottle to "Flavor Sample," you can just drip a few drops down the atty, or splash some into the drip well, it'll get sucked up if you give it a pull (I do like to kinda run the previous flavor out before doing either), juice in the bottle doesn't "auto-feed," unless by accident if it's really thin. Also, I'd go with 2000mAh 18650's if it were me, I think they were like a dollar more on the RTD site. I've also, due to the advice of others in this forum, become a fan of the Vapage Hybrid BF atty's (NOT the Silo's, they're too carto-like for me); they're my go-to if my RBA's are misbehaving, though I've yet to try any of the Cisco's, they may or may not be better.

- AW 18650 batteries (two, for zero downtime) - AW IMR 18650 1600 mAh

- Juice!

Also, three quick additional questions:

- Am I understanding correctly that the anodized finishes on the Reo are more prone to showing wear and tear over time than the non-anodized finishes?. The anodized is a long lasting, very durable finish. Unless you go with the Tumbled/Clearcoat. The tumbled, even with the clear coat gone will not show scratches or dings much at all. The Powder coating is pretty new on the REO's. Some have reported wear showing.

- With the Cisco LR 306s above, is it necessary to remove the atomizer and/or drip tip from the Reo in order to feed the juice up from below?
There is no atomizer or cartos that needs to be removed to feed as long as it is a bottom fed atty or cartos. You are safe with the Cisco.

- Will I be able to "flavor sample" wisely by swapping an empty bottle into the Reo, and dripping juice directly down the air hole of the atomizer?
You can drip into the atty or into the drip well and it will be pulled into the atty when you vape.

Go Ahead.... make your day, pull the trigger!!! You are about to make one of the best decisions of your life!! The only thing that beats a REO/Cisco 306 LR atty is a REO with a RBA, THE ultimate! Something to look forward to. :)
Welcome to REOville.:toast:

I would suggest a minimum of 3 batteries.

Also, order a spare spring from REOsmods for just in case. The spring collapses when an atty/carto shorts, and yes, it does happen. Most of use can go months without a short and a lot of people never have one. But if it happens it is so easy to put a new one in.

The absolute best finish for hiding any dings, gouges, scratches is Silver anodized. They are my rough condition work horses. The in house powder coat finishes that Robert does vary in durability. My shiny purple sparkle (powder coat) shows tiny, almost microscopic scratches from the abrasive, micrscopic dust that permeates our environment.

My Black Wrinkle seems to be one of the toughest powder coats and it does not show fingerprints. Dirt and cornstarch, for instance, wipe right off. When I was cooking, recently, I got corn starch all over my BW. When I wiped it off, using damp cloth, I was amazed at how dirty it was because it didn't look dirty. Robert says his helper, Wayne, is really hard on REOs, and his BW is holding up well to Wayne's "abuse."

If you can afford more than two attys you might want to get more. I have to rush off but someone can direct you to good source for inexpensive attys to have for backup. Cisco attys are top of the line and have many fans. With a 3.7v REO very few people use any higher ohm than 2.0. Loads of us like 1.7 or so. 1.5 for some juices. 2.0 is too cool for me and DH but he can't go much lower than 1.7. I do 1.5 a lot.

Don't forget to get a couple of 510 drip tips.

Congrats on your new adventure.

Wow, you guys really do rock. Great answers and suggestions, and so quickly! Thanks!

You can also pick up a couple of cartos or atty's on the reosmods site. Nice prices too! Vary the ohms till you know what you like best.

Have you been vaping long? Have you used atty's?

I've been vaping for about a month, and have not used attys before. So this will be a new world. I've resisted the atty/drip approach in the past because it seemed to messy and complicated, but it seems this mod completely addresses that. So I'm really psyched. I've loved vaping, but really been dismayed that every approach I've used so far has had such glaring flaws. Prefilled carts end up tasting like crap and who knows what burnt filler is doing to my lungs... CE3 mini-clearos taste good but are a huge PITA to refill, with paper towels and syringes... and the T3 clearos, while looking great, end up leaking and gurgling and being higher maintenance than dripping would be, it seems.

So I'm hoping the Reo will be the final answer. Or as close to it as exists at this point, anyway!

Thanks again guys...

Any REO will eliminate the hassles you mention above. You can forget those days once the REO arrives.

Your daily ritual will be reduced to placing a battery in the REO and vaping your face off. The 6ml bottle will likely last more than a day between refills. Not to mention the flavor and consistency the bottom feed device with 3.7v battery provides.

As for backup gear, keeping a spare atty / or carto in the car is a good idea, however I have never needed to even use it. Just grab your grand and that's pretty much it when ya leave the house.

Congrats. Now get to stalking your mail man.

THE TRIGGER HAS BEEN PULLED. :)

Went with a Black/Silver anodized RG.

Ordered three 2000mAh batts, and a charger from Avid Vaper, where I'm getting the attys, since they actually have everything in stock. Will be nice to just have two packages to wait for anyway, even if it cost me a couple of extra bucks.

YaY! Congratz new Reonaut!

You will get a email from PayPal containing shipping notice and tracking number. Someone needs to be home to sign for delivery. If you don't see the email in the next couple of days look in your spam folder.

You are about to be amazed by how easy and hassle free it is to vape a REO!

The button is a nice addition tomthe grand. Enjoy

Yes, I placed an after-the-fact PITA second order for a button. A few spare bottles too. I guess I'll wait a couple of days before I place a spare spring order. I don't want to be a complete buffoon. And maybe I'll find there are some other accessories I want to get that I can bundle in with that order.

I've made it for over two years with my REO Grand without needing a spring, so you can relax on that. However, I DO have a spare spring just in case. You are going to be amazed at how awesome the Grand is going to be. Congratulations! You just need to cross your fingers now that the batteries, etc. get there on time. There's NOTHING more frustrating that having a beautiful REO Grand in your hands that doesn't have any batteries/attys to fit it. :)

Welcome to Reoville!!
