So I've been dwelling, reading & learning this field(getting overwhelmed & discouraged) & what I would like to know for someone who wants to kick the nic, would it be as easy as just mixing pg, vg & flavor (pg based) to create a nic-free juice?
Shake & vape or steeping and what not.

Only reason I'm asking is because there's little to no info about this part of DIY. I know people love the nic but not only for those who is trying to kick the addiction but for myself, it would be good to have some advice on this side where no nicotine is involved. Thank you. [emoji4]

I would say it all depends on what nic level you are on now. If you are doing 18mg of nic, I would say it ain't going to be easy, but if you are at 3mg then why not give it a try. In between I would just scale down little by little until you hit zero. But as far as mixing, zero nic works just fine in a mix.

@JimScotty0 Oh don't worry about me, I have my brain wired to know that addiction is all in the head.(i have gone cold turkey for 6 months a long time ago to prove to myself) Nic is nice but I will do fine without it. Thank you for the input tho, I believe some people would need this advice.

Hopefully there are brewers out there with good recipes to share that doesn't involve any nic in them, would love to give them a shot.

Your posts are a little confusing Shariztaker.

There's a very great deal of comments and info out there about vaping without nic. Also, many if not most juice vendors now have 0 nic retail sales.

And by the way... it's becoming clearer that nicotine is a mere fractional percentage of what makes retail tobacco addictive. It's the cocktail of additives that makes it truly addictive, nic on its' own is barely at all.

And last, many substances are physically addictive, not just psychologically. I think smoking for nicotine, at the least, straddles that line.

Sorry to be confusing but as of this forum I can't find much info/homemade recipes here.
Well I don't disagree with what you say, but I hate to believe addiction is so hard to overcome no matter what it is. When I went cold turkey for those 6 months, I did not smoke or have any alternatives. Either way, ever since I started vaping, it's been 3 months since I touched an analog. I think the mindset is very important.

As far as DIYers, there are none that I know of that have made 0 nic except vendors, but I am sure you hit the nail on the head. Mix pg/vg and desired flavors. I will add though, nic does give flavors a different kick from my understanding.

Exactly why I'm reaching out to see nic-free DIYers out there. Looking to actually start a decent thread for those stepping down their nic level to eventually none and yet have a good ADV recipe(s).
Different kick TH wise? Or a boost in the flavours. I'm hoping it shouldn't be too much of a difference with/without it in terms of flavour.

There isn't really much difference in recipes with versus without nic. Maybe a little less flavor if you are accustomed to covering a sub par nicotine. on a tobacco mix less flavor from some of the more flavorful nicotines. Less throat hit of course.

Many many people on here mix test batches at zero to make sure they like the mix before adding expensive nicotine. Seems like a non issue. You could also check out something like Flash from FA which is suppose to mimic the throat hit of nicotine.

Pretty simple to mix a recipe and dilute with plain base as needed. Have fun and let us know how it goes.

Will power is a good thing. But addictions... hell, all substances, affect different people in different ways according to personal body chemistry. There's no black and white 'one size fits all".

Anyway... you'll get varied opinions on the flavor effect of nic (there's one now while I'm typing this), but I don't expect it's a tremendous one, nor one that can't be done without or made up for.

I use nic because I've grown accustomed to it. I enjoy it and I'm not concerned by it now that I'm vaping it. I don't believe I'm 'addicted" to it anymore. And I don't think I use it for flavor or throat hit (don't really need that last one anyway).

DIYing without nic is no big deal. Just do it... and enjoy.

Thank you for the quick comments and inputs you guys, very interesting talking points haha.
I'm still a noob to the DIY world.

All I'm looking for in this particular thread now is for nic-free DIY recipes that are good if not better than those with it. A good metaphor would be Alcoholic Beer & Non-Alcoholic Beer, you know what I mean? It's okay if you don't cause I don't this thread to sidetrack from what it is now intended to be. Haha[emoji38]

Just a list of flavourful, delicious & nic-free DIY juices.

Sorry, I've see the problem.
Nicotine is not alcohol. You are assuming that a recipe must have nicotine to taste "right".

Don't assume that. Don't worry about the nic being there, or not. Just mix the juice. :D

No no oh gosh hahah it was just a metaphor. I'm saying it's like it in that way only in this case, for ecf, we lack a nic-free DIY thread to share and post our homemade recipes. Like everyone is posting & sharing about juices with nic (this being the "alcoholic beer" part of the metaphor) but there is zero posts on recipes without nic( this being the Non-Alcoholic Beer part of the metaphor), okay maybe I didn't use a good metaphor. I really hope you know what I mean. Haha
I mean it might be a different thing when it comes to good flavour without the nic, maybe adding flavor with another flavor would be better or who knows since I haven't done it yet. That's all I'm saying. I hope this isn't confusing haha.

I don't think you will find such a nic-free thread because in every recipe you won't see a nic percentage. The nic level is in addition to the recipe if you should choose to use nic at all. I myself only use 3mg of nic and at that low level it isn't even tasted so when I mix I mix for flavor and not for a complementary flavor to suit my nic level. Adding nic is an option that at this point in time I choose to add a little. Someday I may choose to omit it, but in either case it is irrelevant to me in the recipes I choose to make.

Alright thank you for that. This now means that thread has just become redundant. Thank you for putting up with this thread and sharing your knowledge. I will let a mod to know to get rid of this. Hahah thanks again guys.

Nooooo Senor, there is no escape... we shall continue with this line of questioning.

Ha, no big deal... I've read one guy who claims even under 1mg does something (?) for his flavors. He likes it, but it may be imagination. I dunno. That's why I left "wiggle room" in my statements.

We may get more opinions and even thoughts on recipes.

:)

Now you shall will us your flavor preferences. Do not attempt to deceive us.
Haha well alright. Flavor preferences? Do you wish to blend some recipes for me to try next time? Hahaa
For fruits: Honeydew, Mango, Banana, Grape, Blackcurrant.
Sweet: Chocolate and probably not too overwhelming, more of a light chocolatey flavour.
I haven't ventured into tobacco but I would love to try me some Cuban. Havent ried any custardy/creamy flavours too. This is so far, from the 3 months of vaping. [emoji41] Yourself?

Ha, actually... folks may have ideas about nic effects on the flavors you prefer.

On just flavor ideas though... I do like the caramel RY4 tobac juices, so it's no surprise I've loved both my own and a retail CaramelApple Tobacco. Tasty stuff.

I do more fruits than bakery/custard types, but they're pretty nice too. I'd play with combos of your fruits preferences with the chocos and then find what you like in pastry/bakery/dairy and continue taste testing.

This ain't rocket surgery... buy flavors and accents/dairies/bakeries you like and play around with them.

I will say... try to not, not, not "chase" every recipe that catches your eye. You'll always be missing some flavoring. Keep track of them and get several at once next time you place an order.

Otherwise... insanity.
