thanks rule~!! alrightly... this will be my last options if no response back from Vapinaze.... sigh...

When I emailed Vapinaze, I didn't get a response. Admittedly, I wasn't particularly nice.. I have read of others who were offered a new bottom piece, if they sent back the defective one. But instead, I went ahead and bought a die, and re threaded mine. The operation was a success. Mine now threads perfectly.

Apparently, some of the most recent RSSTs are experiencing threading issues as well. Some of the vendors who sold them have offered to replace them.

oh well... but i do agree that AC9 is a solid built atty. other than the thread problem, all seem to be in top quality.

It's nicely machined; but not without it's problems. There have been some leaking issues, as well. The latest version, 1.3, supposedly has addressed it. An upgraded seal kit has also been made available for the versions 1.1 and 1.2.

Got mine this morning 1.3 and the threads are buttery smooth, fits on my Nemesis and Poldiac perfectly. So far so good no leaks, but then again the AC9 I got in February never leaked. AC9 remains my favorite rba.

The AC9 is a great RBA, if it doesn't leak, and if it threads properly. But for me, that was too many "ifs" for a $130 piece. I have an AC9, as well as a couple RSSTs. I can't honestly say that the AC9 is $100 better.

Yeah, that's what some people are saying. A few friends of mine own an RSST, but they all say it has far too many problems (maybe they were unlucky with the ones they received, not sure how the QC is with that company) but for the price, I think it's a great beginner's atty. I think AGA T+ is a good beginner's atty too. Neither truly a beginner atty, but just because the price is low. I'm not really into 'clones' per se, but to each their own, if one really sees it as a clone. I know there are differences, and not sure which company got hurt the most when the word 'clone' got associated it. I understand many don't want to pay $130 for an atty but many attys run close to $200 or more. Materials aren't that expensive but the research and development behind these products are what makes them great devices. That's just the way I see things. I've been a research scientist for a very long time, perhaps that's why I think the way I do.
