Wish I could. Smashed my ZNA clone so no juice $ right now. Don't love the backup Vamo v2 any more. Gotta go mod shopping. :) LOVE ACB wish I could order another sample or 2.

Remember before you got that and everyone was telling you to skip it and get a reo? I'm pretty sure you can run them over with a backhoe and barely put a scratch in it.

HA! i am amazed that nobody has mentioned the reo to me... yet. yes, it is on my mental wish list. a guy at work brought his in yesterday to let me take a look at it and dang, it felt good in my hand! first order of business? learning how to build my own coils :)

It's not nearly as scary as you might think. My eyes are terrible and half the time I am doing it with only my iphone flash light mounted on a Joby tripod while the Mrs. sleeps. It only took a few practice runs before I was building reasonably good looking coils that hit like a champ. Just keep in mind battery safety. High drain IMR's with a sufficient amperage for the resistance of the coil. Lots of good resources on the forums for this, and if you ever need help just shout.

I smashed it with the bucket. Don't think the reo would have done better. Lmao

This is why I don't want to spend over $100 on something I carry at work. Want a decent work mod, then eventually a home & out reo or 2. But <$100 VV/VW setup that uses tanks so I can carry a couple Flavors easily is a must.

Just so you know. I was intimidated with building my own coils. I used to use carto tanks and clearomizers. Even all the talk of different drill bit sizes is just for people to share on the forums. I just use a micro screwdriver to wrap on if you want less ohms wrap it less wraps the next time. More ohms wrap it more times. Tighten it to your posts while it is still on your screwdriver. Dry fire on your mod and squeeze it a a few times in between so the brightness starts in the middle and goes out. Get some type of Japanese style cotton cut a strip a little wider than the coil. Twist the end and trim so you can pull it through. Cut that little compressed piece off add some juice. Really you can do this much easier than you think. A few videos/pictorials and you will have wicking down like a boss. Just pick up some 28 gauge Kanthal on amazon or wherever. You can even bend the wire back and forth after you secure it in your posts to snap it, or cut it with nail trimmers. I have a bunch of pliers, cutters, etc, but they aren't necessary. Kanthal, cotton, and a micro screwdriver set will get you going. Once you get the better flavor and vapor you won't want to go back.
Unless of course you are a sloth. Sloth nails are difficult to build with. Not their fault just very difficult with their nails, and they move very slowly which adds to the difficulty too, but it does give them time to contemplate ethereal things and sound like excerpts from Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

I don't think he's going to take that lying down.... :)

EDIT: On the other hand that is what sloths do best.

thank you, i do appreciate that :) i'm not too worried at this stage as i'm gonna stick to my regulated mods. i'm sure that somewhere down the road, i will get the mechanical itch and trust me, i will want to know all about safety. i'm not too keen on blowing myself up ;)

Well that pretty much sucks! Sorry to hear of your loss Mike. Now I may get a chunk bit out of my backside for suggesting this but, maybe its time to stalk the classies for a good used Provari. No stink'in bucket will kill that and in fact, there have been reports of them being run over by a truck and they keep on ticking. Have been carrying one with me for just over a year at work ( topped with a Kayfun) it has hit the cement a few times and has come away with nothing less than a minor scratch. Also have a little vinyl zipper holster for it that clips to my belt loop.

Edit: added picture of before the Kayfun......Which also reminds me that I have a pair of Naugty's sitting in a box.

I've really considered that many times due to all the + comments I've heard on their durability. I will say that I had the A-Mod ZNA Clone and I had to of dropped that thing literally 30+ times with 0 damage... I just happened to be grading out potholes in our driveway at work, back dragging limestone over them, and just smashed the hell out of the thing, or it wouldn't have broken.... I was amazed every time I dropped the thing and looked at it, another scratch, but still worked....

The only Provari issues I have are that I prefer watts over volts for adjustment (I know, same thing, but easier for repeatability with slightly varying coil builds), and the fact that the ZNA is much shorter... Thats my biggest beef with the Vamo, the length... Although after having the SXA300 chip, the vamo def doesn't hit as nice....

Seriously considering ordering a Robbot ZNA Clone tomorrow, which is full stainless just like the real ZNA, instead of aluminum w/ a stainless tube like the a-mod, but I'm iffy about the Cloupor chip vs the Yihi in the a-mod... The recent reviews I'm seeing though point to a huge current quality issue with the a-mods, so i'm not really wanting to order one atm... I'm this ][ close to pulling the trigger on the robbot, just going to sleep on it...

You may be correct about a reo taking a direct hit from the bucket, but it would have a better chance of survival versus almost any other mod except a provari.
If enough <$100 setups die, it will quickly add up to the cost of a reo or provari. Nevertheless, an mvp2 or something similar should cover your requirements.

Edit - Distor' got here already . . . . :)

Yup... I'm going to HD tomorrow to look at what I can put on my belt for at work.... Issue was not mod strength, issue is abuse... Going to check out flashlight pouches, etc....

mvp2 doesn't get hot enough although it is very nicely throwaway priced and don't have to carry batteries.....

Pretty much between that and the full stainless ZNA clone right now... I'll pull the trigger on something in the am.... I'd certainly like to spend 40 instead of 80, but there's a couple juices that 11w just doesn't do it for me...

On that note, how well (width wise) does something like a TaiFun fit on an MVP2???

Mike, I hear your point about the Provari but really, it can kick some a.. with the right build on the topper.. I also carry a Reo Grand Lp with me as well. I also hear your point about the chips as I did a lot of research on them before pulling the trigger on my Hana. I wanted to explore the world of variable wattage but, after reading more than one horror story about the clone versions frying ( including one where the Kat jumped up and threw it out the door because he thought it was going to explode!) read Clouper, I decided to go with the real deal. Then I saw a deal on a real ZNA in the classies and the rest of that story is history,

Being in a heavy industry which it is obvious that you are ( and this is merely a recommendation) may I suggest to you that you go with something that is readily serviceable right here in the good old USA. It's surely going to cost more initially but as K2 stated, if you go through enough of the throwaways you've more than likely already spent the cash that it would cost you to get a reliable unit. Also, it sounds as if you need a solid and dependable unit as well.

Not trying to push you in one direction, just adding a little more food for thought.

On another note, when you stated you smashed your unit with " the bucket" were you referring to that as in tractor? :?: If so, me thinks you may be SOL as there isn't a unit in the world that will stand up to that!

Flash! I just remembered something to look at. The VTR! Built like a tank and reasonably priced, it can do both VV and VW and a nice holster is available as well although it is still a throw away if it goes south. Have one ( actually my very first mod) that I haul out to the garage/shop with me and it has been a solid unit. I have even used it as a tap hammer from time to time when I am too lazy to return to the tool box. It runs up to 15 watts and with a 1.2 ohm on my Doc Dave, it puts out plenty of vapor to keep me satisfied.

Something new to consider-an Eleaf IStick. It's being called an MVP killer. It's VV/VW 3-20 Watts. It has an enclosed 2200mah 18650 battery and it's about half the size of an MVP. The price at the few places that have it in stock is around $40.00. I got one last week and I love it. Much more pocket-friendly and comfortavle in my hand compared to an MVP. Good luck with whatever you decide on!

Hi Jingles! I have been reading a little about those. It sure seem that the folks who have them such as yourself are quite happy with them. The only thing I don't care for is the fact that it has a fixed battery but at $40, what the hell? Do you have a link as to who has them at that price. I may want to pick one up to play with and I have a friend who suffers with arthritis that I can pass it on to once I am done.
