Goin' Mobile... eeh ooh, beep beep!
Is that an IE8 thing or should I be seeing it also?

It's not an IE thing. I switched to Firefox - and learned something. The message I was referring to is only for when you have quotes selected in a separate thread. It reads as follows:

"You have selected 2 posts that are not part of this thread. Quote these posts as well, or deselect these posts."

However, it still accumulates the quotes when I have "multiple-quoted".

Just FYI...

Mine have been going away.

I had that problem - but I have a new load of FireFox with the no-script add-on and have had very few waits. (allowed e-cig....forum and yahooapis via no-script)

Yep...me too...except for the few waits part.

Did you check out the info here?

I did...like I said I clean the computer every night both by the FF option and with MRU Blaster...manually. I also have CCleaner...RegCure...Malwarebytes among others...nothing has worked.

Hey nicotime -- you are The Resident PITA. My last multi quote @ post#19 --- the check marks stayed. You've passed it on to me . LOL

I'm out of here before I end up in the doghouse down by the river.... Have a good week.

Thats me...so I'm not the only one with all the luck!

Have you sent a PM to a MOD about this? Perhaps something is hosed up in your ECF settings.

Thanks zoid...I wouldnt know which one to pm...I would think posting here in the "Site Feedback and HELP" section would be the right place to ask.

Someone's a little impatient.

I have no idea why you're having the issue. It's a pretty unique one. Most likely it's either something messed up on your end, or it's an isolated software glitch that doesn't seem to like you very much. Either way, I'll do some searches, and if a fix can be found, I'll let you know.

I use Chrome and have experienced the same problem since the upgrade.

I think most folks who are affected by this, have just been tolerating it..... Deleting them out of the edit box before posting the reply. It is a major irritant for sure, but nothing compared to the catastrophic loss of the green grin, and blue winky.:lol:

I have never been accused of being patient for sure...but this forum has not run smoothly since the upgrade last year. I have been in to computers since the first PC's came out..so I'm not computer illiterate by far..nor am I an expert. I have exhausted different settings..disabling..reloads on my end. If you can figure out the problem it would be much appreciated.

I too have tolerated it...but when I reply to a post I shouldn't have to delete previous quotes...then type the message and click send...wait for the timeout message..click again to send...then get bounced back several pages from the last posts page...catch up to the post and do it all over again the next time. I for one got tired of doing that so I decided to take a break for a while...my prerogative! I am not "stomping off to another forum" badmouthing this one like others do...I noted for problem solving purposes that it does not happen on other forums I am on...and you do know not all forums are e-cig related right..but if you can get a cheap grin from it go for it! I announced my taking a break on the joker thread as a courtesy to my friends to know my intentions...not for sympathy or a rant.

I wasnt looking to have this turn in to a spectacle either..as a supporting member I just wanted to find a solution to the problem without being treated like a child or an idiot. I did however figure there would be a backlash from saying anything about the forum other than its the greatest thing since sliced bread...oh well...I'm not one to sit around too scared to say anything if there is a problem. I do understand that the forum is still growing and there will be glitches...but in the meantime I will be more of a spectator...is it the end of the world...no!

There is definately some strange behavior in this system.....the multi quote thing.....and mine does what I call the Time Warp...(it's just a a jump to the left...)...90 % of the time when I hit f5, the page jumps back about half a page worth of posts then the whole thing jumps over to the left leaving me half a screen to see. I have to scroll back down then scoot the page back over......??

I apologize Nico, for having poked fun at your situation. It was tongue in cheek brother. I didn't realize you were having more issues than just the multi-quote, and how frustrating that must be.

I myself have adjusted my hosts file to eliminate the slowdowns and hangups caused by the facebook connector and google crap on these pages. F5 still doesn't work right for me either. I click Settings (at the top right next to Log Out), and then click on the go to first unread post button, if there is a new post on the thread. It's most frustrating, but I have adapted to it now and so, didn't see your frustration. Nor had I seen this thread before I made the insensitive comment in J0kers.

But, that is all beside the point my friend. I apologize for being such an insensitive ...! Sometimes I play too hard, and poke too much fun. This time was one of them. You are a good friend, and I am sorry that I was such a jerk!

I hope this ECF stuff gets ironed out so that we can have you back!

So far it looks like an issue with the forum software. We'll be updating to a new revision soon, so hopefully the issue will be resolved then. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

It reminds me of when I wrote programs for CNC machines...you do a call for a subroutine and unless you include a code to cancel that call it will keep repeating the subroutine...but I'm sure its a little different. I just cant figure out why it would be so random at times. Thanks for looking in to it.

@progg & Ralph T...Not a problem...not trying to make enemies here...just been on edge lately!

@notsoogood....Thanks sweetie..I'll be around now and then...dont worry!
