It reminds me of when I wrote programs for CNC machines...you do a call for a subroutine and unless you include a code to cancel that call it will keep repeating the subroutine...but I'm sure its a little different. I just cant figure out why it would be so random at times. Thanks for looking in to it.

@progg & Ralph T...Not a problem...not trying to make enemies here...just been on edge lately!

@notsoogood....Thanks sweetie..I'll be around now and then...dont worry!

Yep...the M99 is missing on the quote routine...M99 Return from macro or subroutine!

I tried multi-quote and reply with quote and both worked as advertised.

Firefox 3.6.11

It is random at times...I just had to delete the previous quotes from my last post here and I even left the thread for a while.

As a test. I would create a New, 2nd ECF account. Then see if the exact same thing happens. If it does it would seem that it is on your end. If it doesn't, then it would seem that it is in your "nicotime" account.

I've had certain oddities happen since the main revision to the ECF. But just about everyone of them has gone away over time.

It isn't on his end. Many of us have had this problem. On Firefox, Chrome and IE.

I think that this version of vBulletin is not quite as well suited for high speed (activity) threads like the previous version. Indeed some of these threads are so fast paced, it's almost like a chat room. I don't think the makers of vBulletin had that in mind. So, us that are using the more rapid paced threads are seeing these problems more than the normal ECF user.

I don't think the average ECF user presses F5 to see if there is a new post in a thread they are already viewing the last post of. Nor uses multi-quotes more than once or twice in the same session, in the same thread. That might explain why this problem seems rare, and mostly just the J0kers and Snail folks complain about it.

Just my 2 cents.

Well if nicotime created a 2nd account and he had the same problem, he could at least focus on his end. If It didn't then he would know that nothing needs doing on his end. As it is right now, I don't think Anyone knows Exactly what is causing it.

I post sometimes in fast paced threads. I never even knew there was a F5 feature. Have never had this type of problem. But I have had glitches before. Not many lately. Last 30 days or so.

It was a good idea, don't get me wrong. Unfortunately, it would also be a violation of the terms of service here. You cant have more than one account, and that would cause major problems with management. I believe this is an anti-troll, anti-spam mechanism.

Pressing F5, merely causes your browser to reload/refresh the current page.

Your right. I never thought of that. If a member had more than one account I could see all kinds of problems.

OK. Here is the next best thing. nicotime could go to someone else's computer, neihbor, friend, parents, etc and use their computer and log on the ECF. If he had the same problem would't that reflex a glitch in the ECF or nicotime's account?

Probably wouldn't prove much. I have three computers in the house that I use. Same account. Same problem with multi-quotes he has.... Hmmm.... I just thought of one more thing that most of us "social" posters have in common.... We use invisible mode. I wonder if that is a clue. Hmmm..... Seems like I have to log in again when I switch modes. Its almost like invisible and visible modes are two accounts as far as the forum is concerned. Interesting.... Nope, I bet is just causes a different "session".

I really need to put a sniffer on the wire and do some http traffic analysis. I would like to figure this out. Sigh... Off to bed for tonight though. Have a good one zoiDman. :)

Which brings to mind -- Don't have time to experiment.

Since the PM section is a "walled" section try going there then returning. A G80 to the G81?

it happens to me too.. but not all the time, and certainly not as often as when it first started.
I was actually surprised when it happended this week. it reminded me that it's still ongoing.

Everything else has ironed out.. or I've adapted too.

Something is REALLY wrong with the quotes now. I can't multi quote at all. In fact, none of the coding is working (no paragraphs, italics, etc) Anyone else?

I think somehow Javascript got turned off in your browser LB.

Another thing it could be is that your access to yui.yahooapis.com is blocked by something on your machine. This will cause all of the cool buttons to stop working. This forums pages draw heavily on functions provided by yahoo. Try clicking on the above link.

If you get an error message from the Yahoo, (404 - Not Found) then it probably isn't blocked.

But if you get a different error, like this, then it probably is being blocked by some software on your local computer:
