Just curious, how does this assembly affect the resistance? Would you keep the length of your resistance the same? When I build my coils I wrap the resistance and it barely makes it to the end of the cup length. WOuld you do less wraps so you can have enough to go down the channel?

I guess, for me one side to twist vs one side makes no difference to me.

The wire grounds at the point where it touches the center piece. Electricity flows through the path of least resistance, so once it contacts the big chunk of steel it will stop traveling through the kanthal. I use 28 ga. so it meters pretty consistently in the 1.0Ω - 1.1Ω range. A lot of people raise their eyebrows at me for that, but 1Ω @ 3.7V is the same wattage as 3Ω @ 6.4V, which is what I used to run with stacked batts and atomizers in the UFS.

I guess, for me one side to twist vs one side makes no difference to me.

I find connecting the wires to be the finicky part of this whole process... maybe I am missing some fundamental technique, but it's been a year, and it still takes more time to do that than the whole rest of the process...

I used to get more inconsistent twists when I was using sterling silver. I switched to pure nickel and got it in a 32 gauge and found I got much better tighter twists. I think the sterling was softer and it would break or I would not be able to get it as tight since I was worried about it breaking.
Once a week I get all my stuff together and do 10 at a time. Maybe because my hands are smaller or I have a little bit of finger nails it helps. I also use a small pair of pliers, it helps a lot.

Needle nose pliers. Hold the V between your fingers and twist with needle nose. Nice and tight. 4-5 full turns. Then give the two wires a gentle tug. That should hold before you move on.
Pull the NR wire over and do 3 wraps over the R. Then grab those 3 wraps between your fingers. Give the NR a good tug using pliers if needed. It should NOT break. Trim the unneeded and move on. Those tugs along the way tighten the joint and assure it'll hold. Never fails unless a shortcut is taken. This process should take under 20-30 seconds once you nail it.

Maybe I'll give that a shot. Part of the problem when using 28 ga. kanthal is that it is significantly more rigid than the silver, so it takes some fiddling to make them actually twist together instead of just the silver wrapped around the kanthal.

Soon eric. I have to sell Ithaka first because I dont want to put a new preorder when people are waiting for the previous one. Ithaka is a wonderful atomizer with too many functions and its made for big mods. Achilles is something different

Haha, yeah, I have some Ithakas coming too, but I really like the thought of the Achilles in the UFS. It always was my favorite device, but I'll never go back to prefab atomizers.

Impressive Imeo, I want to be a vapor train also, with my UFS and an Achilles inside it.

I always resisted to buy an UFS, just because the idea of using premade chinese atomizers inside it, I know, there are some no GG RBAs that work inside UFS, and made in USA good premade atomizers, but you know, those are no GGs.

iAtty was my first RBA atomizer, and since that time I have never used a chinese atomizer again. iAtty opened a new unknown way of vaping for me at that time, it was like you are used to rest in a stone bed and one day you sleep for the first time on a high quality and hightech matress, in which you could jump if you want to do so, simply have a comfortably rest, take a nap or sleep all night (having only nice dreams) and a lot of other imaginable things :D (excuseme for the analogy :) )

Then Odysseus with its expansion set came, and after that Penelope came. Each one with its own features, each one with its strong points and beauty.

And when Achilles was announced and thanks to Rivernut, I was able to buy an UFS (exclusively to be used with an Achilles in it).

I have (and have had), a lot of other atomizers after I got my iAtty, all of them are RBAs, some of them are ok, but I can say with a lot of confidence and steadily that GGs are the best of the best.

GGs are the only ones that I can take out with me and will perform flawlessly in all aspects, without the feeling and fear that at some point there will be an issue with them: shorts, leaking, wicking problems, etc.

GGs are the only ones that is a pleasure to not only admire them because their beauty, but to use them, to be amazed of their simplicity and at the same time complexity of their engineering and ingenious mechanisms, innovation and range of possibilities. All created by a modest Hellenic genius that at the same time is a great friend.

I'm glad to be a member of the GG family. :)
