Blaine,
The same thing happened to me after 5 months of no cigs. I also have no hormone issues. I have no history of acne before this past January.
At first I thought mine might have been a VG allergy-NOT PG. But then I reminded myself that I used to vape 100% VG back when I was using Blu, so that couldn't be it.
But I think there must be something to your body getting rid of toxins. I mean, we smoked for years (at least I did for 10+ years). It's gotta take a while for your body to fix itself.
I bought me some Acne Free and it's helped tremendously. It hasn't eradicated it completely, but has made it manageable and less severe. Up to 80% better in my case. And the acne that still occurs is nowhere near as bad as it used to be since I started using it. I used it once before years ago as a preventative measure before getting married (I wanted my skin to be perfect in my wedding photos). So I came back to it to treat my "quit zits".
It got better for a while, but I am noticing a flare up this week. I blame it on the hot and sticky weather we've been having here in KY.
Yes, it's best to get answers from a doctor. However, I've decided to treat it myself. Even with health insurance, it will cost me a ton of money to first see my GP, then get a referral...wait another month to get an appt with the referred dermatologist, pay hundreds of more dollars for an initial consultation, and thousands for more tests and follow up visits...and frankly I just can't afford it. Thank you, High Deductible Insurance Plan!
Don't worry, it will get better. And I've done other reading on here where some VG users do experience acne.
I posted about it once a while back and there were some folks that were against me thinking that
vaping had anything to do with it. But it is a possibility.
I went a while
vaping 100%PG and then a while vaping 100%VG and both times there was no improvement (nor did it worsen). I went about 1 week each time.
Hope it gets better for you.
