OK,

Got back from GC (with my son). Whew, lotta gits there. Didn't see any Seagulls but Fenders, Epiphones, Yamahas, Mitchell100 (never heard of them but sounded pretty good) and Takamine.

He likes the Taka s35 for $129 @ GC, but at Amazon it's like <80 with good reviews that I find hard to believe. Maybe that's the hot name in high school now, Takamine, I dunno.

Here is the Amazon link:
Amazon.com: Takamine S35 Jasmine Acoustic Guitar (Natural): Musical Instruments

hope it works this time and
@ BradSmith - How kind of you to offer, let me see how this pans out and just might PM you. Thank you very much.

Any opinions on the Takamine s35? I would love to do the Seagull, but it's a lot right now.

Again, thanks guys.

You cant beat the price for the guitar you get with the Takamine s35. Yes get it from amazon same guitar with out the mark up of GC. This way if your son loses intrest it will not hurt as bad.

Brad as said before.. you da man!

If you want I'll send you a tuner, a dozen fender picks, extra strings, guitar strap, and a couple of begginer DVD's one is made for Fender and the other is kind of the same but made for Epiphone. They just have all the basics of how to take care of your guitars and then basic scales and chords things like that. I would hate for you to go down and blow 50 bucks or more on the extras. This way you can spend a little more on the guitar and get him a better guitar and have the extras too.

Wow Brad, that's very generous of you! Do you sell ESP guitars by chance? In the market for a neckthrough M-II.
