Saw GLWYS but no definition. It's at the very bottom of the list.

Searching google the only possibility that came up was "Good luck with your sale". I added this but if you know something different please change it or delete the line. I've never seen that ACK used on this site.

That's exactly what it means, Susan. :)

It's common on the Classies, actually, but perhaps less so these days. Dunno.

the first thing I looked for on that list was "mod" -- this term still baffles me. I always assumed it meant "modified" as in "customized by the end user" but I constantly see/hear people referring to a standard, off the shelf, exactly like the other 1000 on the shelf, battery thingie as a "mod". I've never modified mine, it looks just like the 1000s of others that were sold by that manufacturer. In fact I've only seen a few on the internet that appear to have been modified by the end user.

So - is this definition of "mod" in the spreadsheet correct? Or am I behind the times already?

Thank you for starting this. I will bookmark it to come back to later when I get confused about something else LOL.
Mod started when they actually modified something into a vaping device. I think the first was a flashlight tube. I think another was a screwdriver handle from Totally Wicked. The name Mod just stuck even though like you said they are not actually modded devices now.

Thanks John. I have finally gotten used to it, so it doesn't seem quite as strange to me now. I know the English language is full of words with similar histories, so no biggie. It just took me a little while to wrap my brain around that one LOL.

I found your explanation compelling. And it makes sense.

The definition I was given (by no particular "authority") was when I made my first visit to a brick and mortar vape shop. "Mod" was explained to me as to be short for "modular." Referring to the vaping device's ability to have is components changed and interchanged. such as batteries, atomizers/tanks, and drip tips. This, compared to the cigarette-shaped/sized integral vapes that could not be altered except by identical, and often proprietary, parts.

That was an excellent guess by the B&M employee but they were obviously a relatively new vaper.

In this case, John's explanation is the correct one. "Modified", and yes, flashlight tubes.

It stuck.
