I'm going to order a chuck and its my understanding that you pick a attomizer socket that's built into it of 510, 901, 801, or 401 and can then change that later with an adapter.
I'm not sure which I will prefer later after experimenting (all I have really used so far is a Blu so have no practical experience with others.
I've seen enough threads to feel that some prefer one or another and there's no definitive "consensus" so to speak of X is better than Y or Z.

That being said is there a certain socket size to get the chuck in, 510, 801, etc which is BETTER for later using different adapters on (IE just as a hypothetical example: "don't get the 401! There's only 1 adapter that will work on that, get it in an 801 because there are adapters for 801 to anything else!) ?

Jeff carries 510-801 and 510-901 adapters and you can get a pair of them for $5 when you order. If you get the 801 or 901 connector, you'll have to find a supplier that sells the adapters.

There is some concern that 510-801 adapters can short out the 801 atomizers. I lost one 801 atty that way (but two others I thought it killed have been resurrected.) Most people don't have that problem.
