Don't mess around with it any more! You'll likely have an explosion on your hands if the batts are getting that warm and not creating vapor!

Try a different set of batts. Check to make sure that the threads are clean on the adapter. Make sure you're using a good atty. Make sure the atty isn't flooded too much. Otherwise you probably have a short somewhere. Maybe bad switches? I dunno.

Maybe the wrapper around the batts is missing somewhere and causing the short.

**update** ok switch was changed from the ones at radio shack still having an issue so it is down to faulty batteries or the spring that the negative battery is on . the spring is really odd it is oddly shaped like it was mashed into place and lost it's (spring-ness?)and it isnt pushing against the battery to make a connection but that still doesnt make sense as to why the battery was getting hot hmmm i have tried mutliple attys as well.

Hey, anyone else with an adaptever having problems fitting protected CR123a's into it. When I got it, the site was out of batteries, so I got some LiMN's that fit perfectly. A couple weeks later, the protected 900mah trustfires that I ordered from DX got here. They're identical to the ones sold on the adaptever website, but when I try to screw them in they flatten the spring and stop hard with about a quarter turn to go. It still fires but obviously I'm not going to use it like that.

I'm pretty happy with the LiMN's so it's not that big a deal, but I'd like the option to use higher mah rating batteries in the future. Has anyone else had this issue? Could the batteries be slightly too long due to manufacturing issues, I notice they barely fit in the WF-138 charger and flatten the springs in there completely as well, to the point that I'm afraid it's going to damage the charger.

For sale on the adaptever.com site I only see 3.2V 17340 300mAh LifePO4 for 6V vaping, and 3.6V 16340 880mAh UltraFires for 3.6V vaping... Under his links to off-site batts I didn't see the ones you mention either...

When I got my first AR last year I didn't want to wait on anything so I got both batts above as well as charger from Thad. All fit great and have worked fine. Have gotten more batts (and chargers) on my own since then of course; some AW 16340s which many say are the best quality available (can get at lighthound.com) and are fyi a bit smaller; and for 6V, some of the Tenergy RCR123A 750mAh LifePO4s that many around here use, and many mod makers sell or recommend. (Digression probably but -- on his site Thad says it is ok to use the UltraFire li-ion multi-charger's 3V setting to charge the 300mAh LifePO4s he sells; not sure about other mAhs but I did get the dedicated charger with my 750mAh LifePO4s.)

Anyway, all of the above fit perfectly. Maybe it would help to also look for comments on the particular 900mAhs you got, regardless of which mod they're being attempted with.

ok sending back and will wait for a replacement i will give em another shot so many people have said so many good things i have to try again thanks guys for your comments and i will make an update when i receive the replacement thanks again guys!.

I'm another one who would highly endorse that decision! :thumb: After having one AR for several weeks I even bought a second one from the classifieds, referring to this mod as "the kind you marry." :D I know it's hard for awhile to have full faith when we're the one some unusual hiccup happens to, but I really believe this one was just a very unusual hiccup. And that you'll end up being pleased as punch with this baby!
