I have never tried it but I have read about it. They were talking about SimpleSaline at Walmart in the pharmacy section. But I think you could just make your own. This is what I would try if I was going to do it. I'm sure others will come along and we can both learn something. Great question.
Here is what I had in the notes I keep. (I'm ....)
Yep, that's the same saline we use (.9% sterile saline; no additives; not for injection) - it's great for rehydrating your eyes, too
We use it in ALL of our juices. Our "base" is 80% VG; 9% distilled water; 9% sterile saline .9%; and 2% PGA (pure grain alcohol). We make 16oz bottles of it and keep it in the fridge (warm it up in hot water when ready to use it). Then we plug it into the calculator as "VG" for our mixes.
You will not be able to taste the salt at all when vaping...but it will help keep your mouth/throat from becoming so incredibly parched. The saline is (truly!) indispensible for bakery flavors & chocolates...and it makes many other flavors 'pop'. Even tho we use only VG and VG nic - we've never had to increase the flavors from any recipe - and we've lessened the percentages on quite a few.
Mix up a small test batch of anything with 5-10% saline and the same without saline. Unless you hit an 'odd flavor', you won't believe how much better the one with saline is!
I would mix and try it first before adding anything. If you feel it needs salt a saline solution would be a better bet. Regular table salt may contain undesired additives and compounds. Besides I don't think you can really reproduce a saltyness in a vape but saline will help make a vape seem wetter and help reduce the drying effect from PG.
Now I am interested in getting some saline solution for my mixes. I have been getting the worst dry mouth from vaping lately, probably because I am going through a good 10-12ml a day now instead of 3-5ml like a month ago.

Im making all 70% VG and higher atm, many of my recipes don't let me go much higher than that since they are PG based. Depends a lot on the flavor, some flavors like banana and sweet cream make my mouth water, where other ones dry it out.

I have similar issues. I could not stand the taste of all the Biotene products. I get swollen saliva glands. I spent a small fortune on dentists, doctors, EN&T specialists and MRI's just to be told to eat a piece of sour candy every day.
It seems very easy to make the solution yourself from the link I posted. I may just try it myself. Hope it helps you also.

I made this the other day to use in a juice I was making. Holy cow what a difference. Highly recommend this method. Mouth/Nose no longer are dry. Juice seems a bit smoother too.
For people looking for saline. I bought 1000ml on ebay and then figured out that you can buy the exact same thing from Grainger, Item # 3PWK4 $8.30 for 1000ml. They have 250ml ($5.89) and 500ml ($7.14) sizes too.
