hey guys my daughter was born about 3 days ago and everything is going fine:) they wanted to keep my girlfriend at the hospital for a few days just to make sure everything was good with her. I have been sleeping at the hospital for about 2 nights and i didnt bring my 510 (what i use to casually vape most of the time) at home as i didnt want to bring it to the hospital. I decided to spend the night at home today just to check in on the animals, anyways my nerves were running high at the hospital like but i guess thats what usually happens when you have a baby haha. But anyways the first thing i did when i got home was get out my 510 and i havnt put it down for hours. I used to smoke analogs occasional but never an addiction then i got into vaping awhile ago and now i barely smoke analogs. Anyways it feels like i was relying on vaping to calm me down a bit and it actually does. Is this wierd at all? I just casually vape throughout the day but never felt like i had to rely on it to calm me down. Does this seem weird to anyone? Whats your oppinion?

First, congrats on the new baby! :D

That doesn't sound weird to me at all. Nic does help me to calm down especially during stressful times. At those times I do tend to chain vape but unless you vape too much and make yourself nauseous, there is nothing to worry about. Your body will let you know if you've had enough or too much.

So vape as much as you need and then you can be the calm and serene person that your girlfriend will need right now.

Congrats! Newborns are a huge life changing event. Chain vaping is absolutely normal given the circumstances. You think it's bad now? Wait till the little one hits the early teen years. lolol

I think one of the most reassuring things about vaping is that your body tells you when enough is enough. And it's subtle unlike cigs. There's nothing quite like the lovely feeling of chain smoking 2 packs of cigarettes for 8 hours during a late night poker game...and waking up the next day... ooph

Congrats!
Yeah thats normal, the nicotine and the physical act of vaping, like smoking analogs, is a way to decompress and pacify yourself during stressful times. Yes it is also an 'addiction' but then lots of things and actions are 'addictive'. Humans are creatures of habit and ritual, like having a cup of coffee every morning when you watch the news, its a physical, mental and chemical habit. If one if thrown off it can tend to "upset" your day. Or like if you shower every night before bed, then one night something happens and you can't get your shower before bed, you won't feel right, or then have a hard time sleeping. Or like me recently, I've watched the Arizona vs. Jodi Arias trial everyday on TV for the past 6 months! Now that the trial is over, I find myself a bit lost in my days...weird but I formed a habit or addiction to watching that trial. We tend to gravatate to things that make us feel good, and feed our habits, so in stressful times or sad times we "need" these things or actions to help lower stress or lift our mood. We create habits, addictions to many things...I say e-cigs are better than smoking, so get addicted to them! lol :)
